Well Designed Rope That Can Be Adjusted For Optimising Exercise Sessions
PresentationThe Bravose Weighted Leather Skipping Rope is supplied is good quality branded packaging (though I do think cardboard would have sufficed rather than plastic) with a window to view one of the handles - it does look the part and has a bit of weight to it.First ImpressionsRemoving the skipping rope from the plastic packaging and the initial look and feel of the branded handles is very good, they are comfortable in the hand and the design of the rotating swivel is such that the spinning motion is free and smooth whilst skipping. The grip on the handle is also excellent with some good feedback coming back through them whilst you exercise. Where I feel some extra thought has gone into it is in the leather rope itself, you can adjust the length to suit your needs for height and optimise your workout. The rope I felt let it down a little, because it was kinked when taken from the packaging and it took 3-4 days to remove the kinks- basically throwing the rope over a hanger on a door with weights either end. Once this was achieved however the rope was ready to go.Day To Day UseThis is a good skipping rope – not the best I’ve used as that was in a boxing club and a very expensive rope indeed, but this has decent weight balance, the aforementioned smoothness whilst the rope is in motion is impressive and I’ve been happy with it in use. The rope has shown a little wear after just a couple of weeks but some wear is to be expected – I’m just hoping it doesn’t prove to be an issue – though with the ability to replace the rope it would not be the end of the world.Summing UpVery happy with this rope – it meets my needs and is not vastly expensive – also looks good, is lightweight and feels durable.

Nice handles, shame about the rope.
Ok, so I’ve used a lot of weighted skipping ropes but this is my first time using a leather rope and I have to say, I’m not overly impressed.. When it came out of the box it was heavily kinked and felt pretty awkward to skip with. I figured it would soften, with time but it hasn’t yet. Due to the poor weather I have mostly skipped with it inside however on my two outside skipping sessions the rope started to fray where it was hitting the floor.I’m not sure if you are supposed to treat the rope to strengthen and soften it but at the moment, it’s not great. I also don’t like that you have to cut the rope to your size as this means I cannot share the rope with my husband, who is much taller than me. I have a wire and nylon rope that lets you tuck the extra rope inside the handles, meaning you can let it out again when someone taller uses it. This one doesn’t have that option, which is disappointing.Moving onto the handles, they really are nice. They are very comfortable to use and the rotating mechanism works perfectly. It seems they are suitable for all hand sizes too as my husband also really likes the grip and his hands are much bigger than mine.If I can’t get on with the leather rope, I may switch it out to something else as the handles are very good!

It works, but feels a bit awkward.
Had the opportunity to test this in my local gym. Whilst the rope feels sturdy and good for a few jumps, it feels a little awkward to get into any good momentum with the rope. The rope also feels like it won't last past a few months going by the actual feel of the rope material. As a positive, the wooden handles feel very well-made and will probably take some good force to break! changing the length of the rope is also easy enough with the Alan ( probably best to do this before going to the gym. I got a few weird looks pulling out an Alan key in the middle of a gym)

Decent quality weighted skipping rope
It's my first experience using a weighted rope as opposed to a light weight plasticky one and I like it. It feels like the upper body is engaged a little more and the momentum keeps going. It takes a little getting used to and needs to be softened up and worn in through use, much like leather shoes or jackets.Overall it's a good value skipping rope.
