ROOMTEC Full Murphy Bed Hardware Kit, Folding Wall Bed Kit,Horizontal,Easy to Install,Saving Space

I'm a pretty handy gal, but this was my first full furniture build. My husband was working nights and I just couldn't wait for his days off, so I got to work. The guides were perfect! Steps you through then entire process. Even though this was a tall order for a single person to complete with such heavy pieces, it turned out beautifully. I need to switch out the handle and bulk up the nightstands a bit, but it's perfect for our office space.

Sturdy hardware for the person who wants to build it themselves. Great template included. Probably not for your first woodworking project, but if you are handy you can do this. I wanted to build it myself so that I could use real wood and not the particle board junk at the store.

I rate this murphy bed hardware kit as 3.5 (rounding up to 4) stars due to the perceived quality of the parts in the kit and how well it works. Unfortunately, I can’t describe the level of difficulty with the installation since I hired someone to do that, but it functions and supports the mattress as I had hoped. This is in an office slash guest room, so it’s nice to have more space for the office when it’s not being occupied by a guest.

This hardware kit comes with detailed instructions. NOT for the DIY'er. To put this kit together you need to be an experienced in construction. There were 3 major (measurement)errors in the instructions. It says plywood can be used. DON'T use plywood it bends due to the pressure. USE hardwood only. The templets were off by 1/4inch for the pistons. I wouldn't recommend this kit.

After installing the unit and ensuring to use the templates and double checking all measurements. Installing step by step as follows in the instructions, the bed does not close all the way. Almost as if the hydraulics aren't strong enough to pull the bed shut.
