Playmobil Junior Advent Calendar: Snowy Christmas

This was so much better quality than I realized and it was perfect for my toddler. He was excited to open it every day and everything was super cute. Some have cheap fillers but I feel like every piece of this set actually will hold up and he was interested in playing with all of them.

I don’t typically write reviews, but felt I needed to after reading some of the others here. I bought this for my 20 month old granddaughter and in my opinion it is so so cute…but also very educational, which is always important to me with toys! I did not use it as an advent calendar as my granddaughter is out of the country for several weeks spending Christmas with her other grandparents, so I cannot speak to that aspect of opening the package. I love that it has a touch of Christmas, but more than that it is a really great toy for a toddler to learn about the winter season, such as the animals taking shelter in the tree or burrowing in the ground; or positions such as over, under, around,; there are plenty of counting opportunities with some single animals, 2 wild boars or angels, 3 deer or presents; the reindeer/airplane also has wheels so you can push it along like a car; and the presents can be connected together for toddlers to work on fine motor skills. The footprints are what actually first caught my interest in this set. I can’t wait to talk about different footprints with my granddaughter and then make some of our own in the snow together and search for other tracks ( I live where there are lots of deer and wild turkeys and other critters around). I actually also bought a board book a few weeks ago about where animals go in the winter, so this set goes right along with that theme. I also like that the footprints can be stacked, developing another fine motor skill. I would agree it would be fun if the star could somehow sit atop the tree; however, the star is very cute and has a great feel to it and is the perfect size for a toddler to carry around…like when you find a small smooth rock on the beach and stick it in your pocket just because it feels good. The quality of this set is excellent and I felt like the on sale price was fair! I liked this set so much I ordered another one, and then texted my 2 nieces who each recently had babies to suggest they get it and save it for next year when their little ones are the right age. I really feel like this is a well thought out toy and PLAYMOBIL knocked it out of the park on this one, so was surprised to see some less than stellar reviews. I will be watching for more PLAYMOBIL Junior sets like this one in the future!

I got this on black friday sale for $10. Love Playmobil. My baby was 7 months when I gave her these (took out the tracks and small items she might put in her mouth). She loves the Santa, tree, Angel, and sleigh. She sucks on them and has fun “playing” with them. Super cute, will put away soon and bring out at xmas.

The package is great and very appealing for toddlers. Most of the doors open to reveal an animal or person, but several of them reveal a saucer with an animal paw print (usually what ever animal was revealed the day prior). These saucer days were definitely a disappointment. Overall we enjoyed this advent calendar but would have preferred more animals and no ‘saucer’ days.

Great age-appropriate gift for our three-year-old. Be aware, three days created a little disappointing as they were footprints for the other animals in the set.

This is such a cute advent calendar and the pieces are so cute and perfect for Christmas. My 2 year old loves it.
