Great purchase!! I had a module based on complex analysis and mechanics, and this definitely helped loads for the complex analysis part. I noticed that my lecturer had used a few similar/exactly the same questions from this book. Also, it taught me a little bit about how to integrate a definite integral using complex analysis. Would definitely recommend it as a supplement to your studies if it's relevant to your module. There was a lot of stuff in here which wasn't as relevant but all in all it was a great purchase for me I don't think I would have got a good grade otherwise.

...lots of solved examples to make you feel confidant to handle the complex numbers, functions and its calculus. the matter is explained with suitable examples and relevant exercises to imbibe what you have learned. This is a quick way to learn and to be used along the standard more intractable texts and a support.

Good book. Don't understand it though. But I do feel cleverer for having read little bits of it. Did you know the sum of the natural numbers is negative 1/12. mind = blown.

Like the rest of the series, this book is mostly for revision of what one needs to know in order to understand the text! But it does that very well. If you want to learn about Complex Variables, then look elsewhere.

A good service, but the book does not cover a great deal of problems.

A required text book for my wife's class. Was very cheap and actually has helped her when studying for exams.

Good reference with examples!

This was the book that I used for my first complex variables course as an undergraduate, and I still turn back to it for practice. Unlike a complex analysis book, or even more typical complex variables book, the focus is really not on the theory. Learning how to prove theorems is not the point of the book, so each section does give a rundown of what the relevant theorems, state and examples of how to use them before giving a whole bunch of problems to practice on. The professor of that class was extremely focused on problem solving techniques over understanding much beyond how to extend things like line integrals and geometric series to solving problems. When I retook the course for a refresher before beginning my analysis sequencing graduate school, I didn't find myself at much of a loss at all when it came to the theory. Part of the reason is that I had another terrific for professor, but part of the reason is also that I had already learned how to do the problems. It's a good approach, along the same vein as how we teach students calculus before we teach them analysis: having a basic familiarity with how the problems works helps to understand what the theorems actually do, which it easier for me to understand what was going on in the proofs. I would not recommend this book to learn the subject for the first time, necessarily, at least not without lecture notes to assist. However, it's excellent as a refresher and as a tool for studying, not only because it gives you a localized list of important theorems and examples of how they are applied, but because there are just so many problems to do.
