Good Solution for a Quick Summer Time Cool Down
I recently purchased this great LifeMaster 8000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner, and I’m satisfied with my experience! This unit cools my bedroom (12 ft x 12 ft) room quickly and efficiently, even during hot summer days. It's been over 90F here in Pittsburgh. The 3-in-1 functionality (cooling, dehumidifying, and fan modes) makes it versatile and convenient. Installation was straightforward thanks to the window included kit, and the remote control is easy to use. I am a single guy in a big house so I got this so I can turn my main HVAC off and save money! Overall, I would recommend the LifeMaster 8000 BTU Air Conditioner to anyone looking for an affordable way to cool down a room. I'd get one of the higher BTU LifeMaster units if you have a bigger space. Have a great week everybody!

Nice little unit for a dorm room
I bought the 8000btu unit for a small dorm room. It works very well for that purpose. It suited our needs of not requiring any permanent or damaging modifications to the window to install. There is an expandable panel that fits inside a small window opening, which fits the exhaust hose. There was nothing to permanently attach to the window. There is a drain pan for condensate. We raised the unit up and ran a hose out the window for it to be able to drain continuously since it’s very humid here. I liked the adjustable louvers on the front to direct the cool air wherever wanted. It operates quietly. Just fan noise, which isn’t very loud. Easy to sleep in the same room with. Provides comfortable temperature and less humidity.

Not a good AC
This unit is not good for a camper. I have a 24 foot travel trailer, so room is limited. I bought this after hearing it's good for RVs. The exhaust hose is a royal pain. It's not really a "flexible" hose (such as a regular dryer hose) and connects to a window set up that's much too large. One slight movement of the unit and the hose forces the hose to come apart from the window mount. Once installed and running, it only dropped the temperature down in my camper 2 degrees after three hours of use. When I viewed my electric meter while using the unit, the wheel rotated faster than an airplane propeller making me believe that it's not any kind of money saver vs the AC that came with my trailer. I gave it a shot, but returned it the same day. It did not work for me.

Doesnt bother others, quiet and efficient
I've had the unit for almost two years so far and it was the best decision ever! It cools the room fairly quickly + it's not noisy. Now it will make noise in the room, of course, but you can't hear it outside of it which was my biggest worry. I live in the second floor of my house above another room. And they complain they can hear every single little noise from mine. All the way to a simple mouse click (not even kidding) but so far, 2 summers with this unit a 0 complaints! So I'd rate it 5 stars

does the job well
I wasn't sure if these types of air conditioners would work well, but it surprisingly keeps our bedroom really cold! I also appreciate that when it's in cool mode, you don't have to drain the water, as it self-evaporates. I only wish there was a setting that would allow the cool air to run continuously without the thermostat eventually shutting it off, which wakes us up in the middle of the night. Because of that, I will give it 4 stars.Recently, I noticed a strange smell coming from the unit that resembled a possible coolant leak. It could have been due to a dirty filter, but I cleaned it. Nevertheless, I contacted customer service, and they sent me a brand new unit, so I’m giving it an extra star for their excellent support!

Doesn't do the job
I really wanted to like this whole, "portable" a.c. movement, but it's not for me. The unit is powerful and blows really cold air and far at that. The problem is, the hose get really hot and since it's inside your bedroom or any room, it's like a cancellation war between the cold air blowing out the front of the unit, and the hot air building up from the hose in the back. You can take a chance it if you like, but I'ma go back to the classic a.c. units. They sit in your window, drip the water itself and blows the hot air out. My bedroom feels comfortable, but not cold enough for a NYC walk-up.
