Less is More - Easy to add if not enough.
I am new to dentures. Extractions less than 3 months ago. I did a soft reline a couple weeks ago, but since my gums are changing shape as they continue to heal, the reline got a little loose pretty quickly. That's where Cushion Grip shines! Cushion Grip is not an adhesive like cream or powder pastes/glues. You will have to wait quite a while after applying it before eating again. It is more like a soft reline, though not as durable. For me it is a soft reline extender. Easier to use than soft reline, no mixing, no hurry, and helps me get a good fit until the next soft reline. I asked via chat on their website about putting on top of soft reline, and they thought I needed to remove the soft reline first. I decided to try it anyway, and I am finding that it may not adhere as well to the soft reline but works. Read and follow the instructions carefully. Look for videos on you tube. I put a pyrex glass measuring cup of water in the microwave for a minute to heat the water. Then the tube goes in the hot (not boiling) water cap down for at least 5 minutes. You need to soften the contents at the cap end of the tube. Use the included key tool to wind the sealed end of the tube after squeezing out the first round ball, squeezing from the bottom of the tube, to allow the key to go on the tube. Then the round ball goes into my palm, and rub it back and forth into a thin rope. The rope goes into the trough of lower or upper and mash it flat into the trough and smooth it toward the open ends of the denture trough. The first application I also added to the palate arch of the upper, but found it was not needed in my case for good suction. Let it rest for at least 5 minutes before inserting dentures and bite down. I feel a very slight burning sensation, but it goes away in a short while. I recommend not eating or drinking for as long as possible. 2 hours minimum, but 6 hours is best to get a decent cure, so don't put in new when you are hungry. Some people prefer to do this at night, leave the denture in place overnight and it will be ready to go in the morning. The Cushion grip will have redistributed and that is why "Less is More". If you did not get enough it is easy to rinse and dry and add more (another thin rope) right on top. After curing it can be trimmed, but is easier if you don't have to. Cushion Grip will harden in air over time, but will remain pliable if in water or denture cleaning solution. Like anything with dentures, it takes practice to learn how these materials can work for you; or not.... I find it does act as a cushion and is softer on my gums than even the soft reline. When I put the dentures in first thing in the morning, I can feel the Cushion Grip softening as it warms, just from wearing and after a few minutes, or as many as 10-15 minutes, the softening allows it to fit better as the suction improves. Can also be put in hot water to soften again if needed. I really like the thermoplastic material and I think each tube will provide many applications as I am using very little each time. I have already ordered more and it is just another "tool in the toolbox" for more comfortable wear. I plan to delay permanent dentures for about a year to allow my gums to be more fully ready for the permanent dentures as I would like to need fewer relines once I have them. Cushion Grip will give me comfort until my gums stop or at least slow changing shape. No hurry now for the permanent dentures even though I have already purchased them. I can wait, thanks to soft reline (I use Reline-It, as the price is very good) and Cushion Grip. I think I will get much more than 4 days from most applications. I am able to do without adhesive on the upper using Cushion Grip for a better fit.

It actuallyworks!
i’ll admit, I was surprised that it’s a good product. When I got my new dentures, the dentist would not put in a cushion filler to make it more comfortable since I had to wear it for six months before they put one in like I had I had on my temporary denture, which was great because it had a good seal and was comfortable. I wanted a filler I could take out when I have to go back to get my dentures adjusted as these are brand new and definitely need adjusting. The reason is I had a filler in place, it would cancel my warranty, which I think is stupid. But the biggest issue was comfort. Hard plastic sucks. I couldn’t afford Aspen Dental so I got what my insurance would cover. Honestly, if I could afford to go somewhere else and get the better dentures I would but I’m stuck with this for at least a year. So I needed a comfortable cushion. I got this to see what it would do. I’ve watched the Dental assistant do it with their brand that they wanted to charge me $200 to put in, by the way, so I had a good idea. Let's try this! Honestly, it’s really pretty easy and when I put the denture in after doing the process, it was a kind of warm and tingled feeling for a bit, but after about two minutes, it stopped and made this hard plastic denture comfortable and secure! So if you’re really in need for some comfort in your denture!

I was hopeful
I bought this in hopes that it really would make a difference. It seemed really positive with the reviews and videos. But there are no miracles when it comes to finding something that’ll help dentures feel and fit better. Something that’ll make it easier to eat, especially if you go out in public. First, I have a high arch therefore I have no suction with my upper dentures. I have to use adhesives or they fall out, a thin layer is all I need though and it lasts all day. No one has suction with their bottom ones, it’s impossible because we use the bottom jaw muscle so much. Even with adhesive it’ll breakdown throughout the day because of the excess saliva that we produce now. Very important downfalls to remember once you become cursed with false teeth! Okay onward to the review! I followed the instructions and there is a distinct chemical smell and burning sensation once you put the denture in your mouth with the product on it, it’s not a “tingling” it BURNS and it brought tears to my eyes. My mouth is completely healed too, it took about 5 minutes before it slowly faded to tolerable. After 2 hours you can sip liquids but not hot. You can also remove the dentures at this point to trim any excess adhesive that is hanging out/over. Immediately put them back in your mouth for the remaining time, remember it says approximately 4-6 hours to cure. It’s recommended you sleep with them in to allow them to cure. You can always add more product if needed and that’s where it gets tricky. Time and patience is a virtue here! You also have to wait 24 hours before you can add adhesive or clean them. I’m glad I have another pair to wear because like I said previously I need adhesive and I can tell already these are not going to stay in place once I speak. I do not feel a suction or a tighter fit. My bottom denture is still loose even with two layers of product. It actually feels like I’m developing a sore on my right side. I don’t know if the chemicals created a burn or if there is a sore from the product rubbing. It is extremely difficult getting this material off of your dentures, I struggled for about an hour to get the layer off, I tried ice water and boiling water too. Don’t make plans on going anywhere if you need to change this liner out because it takes time and it’s frustrating! The brand ambassadors that praise this product must get paid well and have great fitting dentures to begin with because I just don’t see this product doing what they claim. My top dentures still fell right out and the bottom weren’t any tighter even with two layers of cushion grip. Wearing a regular adhesive works better in my opinion! I’m glad I can return this product and get my money back.

Tried But Not True - Addendum 8/3/24
I purchased the Cushion Grip Thermoplastic making it to see if it would hold without drying out my mouth which made it necessary that I carry a bottle of water every where I went, it also created this foam on my lips to where if I wore lipgloss, lipstick or even vaseline my mouth would look disgusting. Instructions were easy enough to follow and the thermoplastic was totally different in that my mouth did not dry out and it was comfortable. The true test followed, I am sorry to say with me the thermoplastic moved while eating I could feel both the partial and full upper shifting. I applied more cushion grip waited the allotted amount of time for the thermoplastic to set and eating is not possible with the dentures. It is impossible to enjoy even bread. There are positives with the thermoplastic speaking is better, drinking is better and eating something really soft is possible. Your product is still good because there are other people who may be able to use thermoplastic. I am keeping what I have at least I can enjoy speaking to someone without constantly rubbing my lips or making sure I do not forget my water and with the thermoplastic I can wear lipstick again. I will not give up on it, so far it has been the best thing that has happened, As of this date 8/3/24 throught I would keep trying the thermoplastic: It is better than the other adhesives insofaras my mouth does not dry out which I truly appreciate because I can actually have a conversation with someone without being self conscious after having the skin on my lips cake up and turn white. I do not have to take a water bottle with me because of the adhesives drying out my mouth. I can take my dentures out and use them again with the thermoplastic up to 3 or 4 days. The problems found are, if an elderly person has to use the key to get the thermoplastic out it does become difficult and also there is a lot of residual adhesive left in the tube so you throwing money down the toilet. I found myself cutting the tube open just to get what was left. The eating while you have the dentured in with the thermoplstic, as much as I wanted it to be true so I could go out with friends, no dso true. Even with eggs, in which you have to really eat slow, you get the plastic clqpping together and there still is have the lifitng, but the thermoplastic is still good. i can wear lipstick eithout it crumbling on my lips which still happens with the others. I can keep my dentures in longer than most. I don't truly share have i feel with items I buy buy I read other individual's comments which helps me chose what I want to spend money on and since money does not go a long way since the pandemic, throwing away money hurts. Please for those who enjoy your products but their hands are not what they used to be, give them something easier to get the thermoplastic out of the tube. The turn key is alright but there has got to be a better way in manuevering the tube, the key does not work for those with arthritis or any other problem with their hands. I truly wanted to be fair in my assessment, knowing that it may work the way it should with someone else and then there are those whohate it. It is not as easy as you say to remove it from the dentures, again you have to take in consideration the elderly and some young ones. There are a lot of things you cannot eat, you have to be a slow eater. There is still the matter if enjoying your food, you may taste with you tongue but you still lose the ability to enjoy what you eat. Implants are the rage now and but that is a house payment and I need someone to show me what Medicare insurance they have that pays for the elderly to get implants. Nevermind the fact that the ability to really enjoy what you eat, be it nuts, crusted bread, vegetables not cooked until they become mush, and candy. Gum is still a no no because it stick to the plastic I would purchase your product again because I gained something back, a litle more self confidence back. The

Works good.
This stuff works. Not sure why all the negative reviews other than instructions not being followed. This IS NOT an adhesive. It’s a temporary reliner to help your dentures fit more securely. It also helps with sore gums. But don’t order this thinking it’s going to glue your teeth in. It’s not because that’s not what it’s for. It has a bit of a sting for about a minute, like a fire ball candy and then there’s no taste. Works well and will order again.

Faulty container but great product
The product itself is great. Has been better than my dentist for a comfortable reline on my immediate denture that actually works. There is a bit of a taste, like cloves, but it wears off fairly quickly. My issue with this is the tube itself. First time using,it split where the key is and started leaking. I put it in a plastic bag hoping it would keep it from drying out. Went to get it today for what would be my 2nd use and see it has leaked in a seperate area. I'm going to try to use it still and hope I can get more use from it. If this is a problem the company can't fix, they should lower the price and just sell smaller individual use tubes. The reline itself did hold up well for more than 4 days. I admittedly kept it in for 7. Started to feel like it needed to be changed by the end of day 5. I really do like this product and hope the manufacturer finds a way to fix the tube so I get more than 1 or 2 uses from it.

If applied correctly will help you enjoy eating your food again
I bought this product as a last resort for a ill fitting lower denture! I couldn’t chew anything without having pain! Eating great tasting food was ruined because I couldn’t chew it! I was losing weight because I ate like a birdI watched a nurse use the product on her father’s denture and she said it was great when used right! Followed her instructions and it worked! The first times in months I ate all my food, chewed it all and enjoyed my dinner!! Have been using it for 4 days now and still working!! You reapply the product every 4days! You have got to try it!! The denture may be a little loose but provides a soft cushion for your denture and lets no food under the denture and allows you bite hard! I don’t usually write reviews but this product has helped me eat again and in joy my food!!!!!!

So glad it's back!
Thankfully, this product has returned. It has again liberated me from using gooey adhesives 95% of the time. Truth be told, this is NOT an adhesive like Polident or Fixodent, rather more akin to a soft reline. If used in similar fashion as the adhesives mentioned above, you will discover it does not glue/adhere your dentures to your gums with the same effectiveness. I had the same reaction that many new users have when trying Cushion Grip for the first time, it was not great for temporarily affixing my dentures to my gums. Another aspect of this product is it is not something you need to apply daily and rinse off at bedtime, it can last for weeks and stays on denture for as long as you feel it is providing a tight fit. There are instructional videos online that can help understand and explain how to best utilize this product. For many of us, when they discontinued Cushion Grip there was not anything on the market to replace it. I was back to the routine of using Fixodent daily, sometimes it took multiple applications to get good adhesion throughout the day. Well, to my dismay that was the best I could expect, Fixodent worked better for me of the available denture adhesives on the market. I could hardly contain my jubilation when I first saw Cushion Grip back on the market, I was hoping it was the very same formula. Ordered a tube and found it to be exactly the same as before, providing a soft liner that molded perfectly to my gums. And that is what Cushion Grip does best, when used properly it provides a fresh mold to your dentures that securely holds your teeth in without any adhesives. Whether you just had your first dentures made or longtime denture wearer, your gums change over time and Cushion Grip when applied properly feels like a brand new set made to fit your gums perfectly. Be aware that it is not a gooey adhesive, as stated it is a thermoplastic for refitting loose dentures. Took me a couple of attempts before I began to understand the best methods for applying product. I found to warm up both product and dentures in hot water for a minute or two, then apply product to dry dentures. place dentures in mouth and bite down for a couple of minutes. One thing to note is there is a bit of tingling that goes away after a few minutes, at this point I will take dentures back out and let them sit for a few minutes while product cures. I will cut off any excess as it takes very little Cushion Grip to cover both dentures, place back in mouth and go on with my day. At end of day cut off any excess before placing in denture cleaner. That is all it takes for me to have very secure fitting dentures, examining the Cushion Grip application on my dentures I note every nook and cranny of my gums and palate our now indented into the thermoplastic. I can eat anything without the use of gooey temporary adhesives as dentures now fit like a glove and last for weeks before removing and reapplying Cushion Grip.
