Use it to charge my lithium lightweight rotax battery, works brilliantly.

Nice compact unit that has eyelets built in so unit could be mounted to wall etc. Has a easy to understand light up display, indicating Mode plus battery charge status. Comes with handful of attachments as well as battery tethered charge lead, to attach "permanently" to car / bike battery etc, for remote charging at home. There are 2 versions I understand, however this is the lesser charging version, trickle charging at a lower rate (better for lithium batteries).

Seems smart, considering user input is 'on or off'. First round it detected and revived my battery, second round it charged it. Win! Expensive, but does the job and good for the environment keep a LiPo battery going where lead acid batteries would be trashed.

Charger is brilliant but the display is very basic and could do with improvements.

I've had an Optimate for at least 20 years and it's still working fine and has given great service over the years. I replaced the battery in my motorbike recently with a new fangled LiFePo one - which is a great upgrade! - so I needed to upgrade my Optimate too. Suffice to say this is just as easy to use as my original - just plug it in and let it do it's thing; charge, test, maintain = peace of mind and so far starting first time with no problems. Very pleased.

Basically this unit does exactly what is says on the box , just plug and play , shop around though the same unit is available at extra cost elsewhere on the net and possibly cheaper as well ! .

This recovered an almost wholly discharged Li ion battery and has kept it in good condition since. Arrived quickly and was unbelievably well wrapped. Owen Farrell could have drop kicked it all day without damaging it.

Bought for 1000cc Honda Africa Twin Adventure and performed perfectly well.

Works as described

Charger saved the EarthX ETX680 on my Sportcruiser airplane. It was discharged to 4.1 volts and several attempts to recharge it using a couple of different EarthX approved trickle chargers failed. I tried the EarthX recommended approach of momentarily hooking a good 12 volt battery in parallel with the trickle chargers to no avail and had resigned myself to having to replace the battery. After reading the reviews, I ordered the Optimate 4s .8A charger, which was received the next morning. I love this charger. It's totally automatic. Just connect and it interfaces with the built in BMS protection circuitry on the battery and goes into Save mode if the battery is more than 50% discharged. A light tells you whether it is in Save mode, charging, or fully charged. Unfortunately, the lights are not labeled, so I used my label maker to mark them, which is no big deal. This charger just works!
