Works well after some fiddling
I purchased this to replace a Nuki doorlock.Currently my setup consists of both home assistant and homekit.I paired initially with HomeKit. As others have mentioned there are some issues with firmware but I resolved by pressing the set button during the pairing process.I have then exposed this via matter from HomeKit to home assistant (there are other ways you can do this).Once you get past the setup process it works perfectly, I can use HomeKey, fingerprint, home assistant app or HomeKit to unlock/lock the door. It’s extremely responsive and quick to open.Additionally I have wired the keypad by connecting cables to my existing Reolink doorbell and both work perfectly fine.

Does what it should.
Overall it’s great. Rare connectivity issues.Battery life is OK, but it can be better. Installation is easy but you can easily make mistakes if you don’t read the instructions carefully. Calibration process is straightforward.Functionality is great. One issue i had is that the double tape is not strong enough to hold on my door, the lock was not stable when in operation. I eventually had to drill the door and fix the plate of the lock with screws for better stability.

Too Big, Too Clunky, Too Unreliable — Back to Yale!
My Yale Conexis failed after eight good years, so I decided to try something different. Big mistake.I was tempted by the Aqara U200’s lower price compared to Yale, plus the added fingerprint reader. I did my homework, upgraded my door with a new handle and euro cylinder, and placed the order.I knew the mounting method was a bit odd — sticky pads and grub screws clamping onto the lock — so I even 3D-printed a custom part and screwed it in properly. But the problems started immediately. It’s so bulky that when you pull the handle, your knuckles smash right into the lock housing. Even my 13-year-old’s fingers couldn’t avoid it.Then came the actual locking. My door and new euro cylinder work fine; they’re not stiff, but there’s a slight notch where the bolt engages. My old Yale struggled a bit with this too, but never failed. But the Aqara’s calibration process couldn’t handle it. It kept thinking that notch was the end of travel, so it wouldn’t fully calibrate. They do offer a manual calibration mode — great in theory — but the lock just forgets it. If my wife hadn’t taken a physical key “just in case”, she’d have been locked out the first day. I came home, used the fingerprint reader (which is genuinely handy), heard the motor whir — and the door stayed locked. It either lost its position again or just assumes you’ll never unlock it manually so don't disturb the start and end positions. On top of that, manually turning it feels like you’re going to break something because it’s so stiff. In the end, the whole experience was so frustrating that it’s completely unusable for me.Back to Yale I go.

A Truly Superior Smart Lock Experience
Let me tell you, I've used a lot of smart locks over the years, and in my experience, the Aqara Smart Lock U200 is in a league of its own. From its sleek silver design to its seamless integration with just about every smart platform out there—Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, and SmartThings—this lock has it all.One of the standout features for me is the fingerprint keypad. It's not just about the added convenience, but the responsiveness. I remember one chilly morning when I was juggling a coffee cup and some groceries. The last thing I wanted to do was fumble for keys. With a swift touch, the U200 had me inside and warming up in no time. It's these moments that really elevate a smart lock from good to must-have.Plus, the inclusion of the Apple Home Key feels like they went the extra mile. If you're an Apple user like I am, you'll appreciate the fluid integration that doesn't miss a beat. Battery life has always been a concern for me with smart locks. However, the rechargeable battery of the U200 holds up impressively well under regular use. Come to think of it, it's actually been a few weeks before I last thought about recharging. What really seals the deal is that it supports Matter over Thread, which is proving to be the backbone of smart home future-proofing. I tend to think it's worth investing in tech that won't become obsolete too soon, and the U200 fits that bill perfectly.Overall, if you're in the market for a smart lock that combines functionality with future-facing technology, the Aqara Smart Lock U200 makes a compelling choice. It's the kind of smart home hardware you miss when you don’t have it.

Six months after buying this
If your thinking of buying this I'm assuming your quite deeply into smart home products as its not your average beginner product so let me ask you this.... is your smart home 100% glitch and trouble free? Well guess what.... this thing is no exception.... I've had this thing nearly six months now and I can safely say it's one of the least reliable devices I have... just what you want securing your home. My advise is as much as you might want to have a smart lock they simply aren't reliable enough just like that speaker that keeps disconnecting or the light that randomly won't turn off. Save yourself the stress and stick to the good old 100% reliable key.
