Fantastic ARM laptop. Might not work with old hardware. Check drivers
Let me preface by saying that I love surface laptops. Their keyboard and high res screens are amazing. This is the second time I try a ARM laptop after the Windows RT era. Love the battery life, ease of use as any other windows machine, and the experience of working with an ARM processor. Prism (windows version of Rosetta for mac) does an amazing job translating all those x86/x64 programs to ARM, no noticeable performance difference. However, beware of peripherals that do not have ARM specific drivers, as they won't work. Think old USB or network printers. Most modern era models will work out of the box, but there are many that will not. And this includes anything you attach to the computer that needs a driver. So far, I just love it. Got the 1TB version elite plus. Don't be blindsided by the Copilot AI feature. I still haven't used it and frankly, don't care.

The best Surface Laptop
Excellent product and quality. I recommend the 1TB storage capacity for the IA apps especially. Very easy to set up. Be careful with the arm64 processor, especially with the compatibility with programs and applications.

Amazing battery life, surprising x86 emulation
I am very pleased with this laptop. The battery life is insane, and for apps that do not have an arm version available, the x86 emulation works surprisingly well. FWIW, I would not expect good gaming performance when emulating x86, but I don't game anyway. I do IT work and development work, and this laptop is extremely well suited for that, even while emulating.

Too Much Software Incompatibility
Although this is a very nice laptop, I would not recommend it. Pay attention to the fact that Surface laptops do not use Intel processor chips. Instead, the use a Qualcomm Snapdragon X processor, which provides better performance than similar Intel CPUs. That may sound great - and it is! - but there's a catch. That catch is that almost all the Windows software you use is optimized for the Intel architecture. I have found that MANY of my go-to systems will not work on my ARM-based Microsoft Surface. For example, the software for my Brother print/scan/FAX device. My automatic backup system, Acronis, also does not work. The list is long, and it seems always to be something critical to the way I work. I realize that for many people this may not be a big deal. But unexpected incompatibility is a real nuisance. Software technical support will tell you that they're working on ARM compatibility (if they even realize that's your problem), but I wouldn't hold my breath. Had I realized that so many of my systems were not ARM compatible, I would not have purchased this laptop. In fact, I had to purchase a second and am trying to sell my new Surface. Any takers? :)

Gets the job done.
As advertised.

ARM64 limitations not advertised
Microsoft is pushing the new ARM64 architecture here which is objectively cool but the backwards compatibility is not there. I had to swap this out with an older model to run my software. If you just need mainstream software this is probably fine.
