A Navy SEAL's Bug-In Guide: How to Turn Your House into the Safest Place on Earth

We are not big time peppers but found this book packed with information that I use on a daily basis. Easy to read, clear instructions and tips on saving money on meals including recipes, what emergency items to have on-hand, plus how to take care of yourself while going through a catastrophe. Lots of good information and interesting to read.

Yeah, like many reviews....spend the $ and get this (real one). Great pictures and illustration that help you understand things clearly. Good mix of info. OPSEC section talks about NOT doing this review and making myself known as a prepper. So, kinda laughing at myself right now. But, some good solid information to help you get started, or maybe update and tweek your plans in place. Good food and water info. Firearms section is a bit weak in my opinion and could be a little more clearer and realistic. Right weapon for right circumstances and environment. Firearms have a place in chaos, but ammo mix and right ammo has a barter value too. He does touch on barter supplies (seeds, alcohol, etc) and having those in your mix though. Good section on dealing with neighbors and the inevitable visits from others. We don't like to think about that component, and this book gives a little thought on it. No telling where this chaotic time is leading us, but if you have car insurance.....think of this a chaos insurance and spend the time and $ to have it. Like insurance, hope you don't use it, but sure nice to have when you do need it.

This book is very organized, comprehensive, and thorough. It also compliments all those other survival books that only talk about bugging out and not what to do when you are done with bugging out and need to settle down. I suggest a small additions though, and that is: 1) While a 22LR rifle is almost useless for self-defense, they are great for when food supplies are short because some of the best (and often times most plentiful) food to be had are pigeons, and a shotgun or AR-15 type rifle is useless for that, and with the very available 22 subsonic ammo, there is the added bonus is also quiet. 2) For making yourself invisible to infrared, the best material for doing that is glass. The glass probably should be camouflaged with local infrared reflecting materials so it won't stand out like a "black hole" in someone else's infrared vision. 3) For storing your smart phone, instead of a Faraday cage, you could use something like Richmond Ice Bars, which come in an insulated aluminum foil coated package big enough to hold three typical smart phones. I guess you could call it a Faraday bag. Although I have used this while traveling, I have not tested it for effectiveness (with the phone off), but theoretically it should be as good as a custom Faraday cage but cheaper.

Hopefully I’ll never need to use it, but this is the MOST informative book, and it’d literally be a life saver!

This is a well laid out book to be prepared. So much information that's easy to understand for anyone. This is the original version of this book. There are versions of this manual that are a smaller versions and hard to read, with some made substandard that the pages fall out. It's well worth the money, for several reasons. A complete manual to prepare yourself, your home, and those you care about!

Heavy emphasis on food acquisition, storage, and long term menu planning. Lots of subjects are covered, and key to getting the most out of this book is reading it and acting on it - in advance. The writing is easy to follow, and almost every page has clear color photographs.

The book is very well written! The information is a very “Good To Know”. If nothing else … it will give you a list of what foods to always keep on hand. We failed miserably. I doubt anything is coming our direction and if wrong, I would guess it is someone that is known by millions plus already has had plans for years. I am a believer of most faiths coming together to show how life can be one of many faith’s and customs. not a silent war on the population which would be a losing battle with the masses. Just random thoughts, but I am not schooled in these matters and my goal is peace unity, and vote for those their chosen candidates. I hope they will follow the people’s wishes that elected them! Advice: great book for political meetings and luncheons or just discussions about how to prepare people for anything.

Advertised as a complete guide to bug in and preparation for an emergency. The book is very detailed and yet very easy to read and follow. Great pictures and lists as well as recipes for li tied food availability.

I got this within a week a couple weeks ago, very fast compared to other items I'm trying to get in. The information is great and I will looking for a small house to get someday and practice!

Great read. Interesting perspective

Book contents are good. It gets 3 stars because a book that costs $100 should be a a full 8.5x11 book and not a small “pocket” version. I was tempted to return it because of the smaller size of the book
