My 5-year old grandson is in the throes of Star Wars fever, and really really really wanted a lightsaber. I ordered one, and then thought "What fun is it to be the only one with a lightsaber?" So I bought him a second one so he could have lightsaber duels. It was a good Idea. He has had great playtime with his also 5-year-old cousin, and his 9-year-old brother. I recently received a photo of the 9-year-old gently playing a lightsaber duel with their 14-month-old sister, who held up her saber all by herself. Most of the reviewers seemed happy but a few reported broken sabers early on, so when the lightsabers were opened, I reminded the kids that in the movie, lightsabers are light beams and can't really be broken, but for children, lightsabers are plastic, and can be broken, so they can't actually smash them together. They seemed understanding of that, and here it is almost 5 months later, and the toys are still in good shape. I loved all the sound and light effects. and that the pieces are interchangeable between sabers.

Though this product was the original, I felt it could have been better if the LED blub that was used could have been brighter. My son has fun with it days after and the quality of it was good, while whenever he bangs it all over the place and it remains intact.

It worked and does what it’s supposed to do. I suppose that’s a plus in this day and age. Grandkids love using them so that’s all that matters. Light could be brighter though

The base of the blade is inherently weak. I have been able to glue it back together but the blue plastic disk that holds the blade in the hilt is not sufficient to hold up during moderate play. Of course it is just a toy and cheaper than other options.

My 5 year old loves star wars rebels... thanks to her father, lol. She begged for a lightsaber to go with her ahsoka tano head gear. This is great. Lights up and makes noise.

The quality is perfect for kids - sturdy and robust - but able to take a clash or two. The sound takes me back to my youth as well. For the money I was very happy.

The other versions of this lightsaber are solid and can be used to hit others. However this one is sword shaped not round, it’s very flimsy at the end, it bent immediately. Go with the other rounded versions if your kids want to actually use this.
