Works well, saves $ by not having to buy an separate, expensive 10-year back-up battery
Installed months ago in my home and some rentals. Really like the 10 years sealed back-up battery. Excellent cost savings over buying separate - now, really expensive - ten year battery.

Great detector.
This was really easy to install, although I didn't use the interconnect feature because Kidde changed their connector format. Still, I really like the 10 year lifespan and not hearing the detector chirp, which drives my dog insane.The detector is solidly built, and fits nicely into the existing screw brackets.

Extra cost added.
Kidde now requires a new device at extra cost to interface with AC. Extra money to spend. Not good.

Easy to install.
Purchased to replace old, expired built in FireEx alarms. These came with the alarm and plug to re-wire the connection. They were very easy to re-wire and install. When tested, they are very loud. I particularly like the 10 year battery. They were not expensive and I will save time and money not replacing the batteries. Hopefully, they will never be needed.

Easy to Install Kidde Product
I needed to replace four smoke detectors when I bought my house as they were seven years out of date. These smoke detectors did the job. With the 10-year life on the battery built into the detector, I don't have to get up on a ladder to change the battery ever. When the battery needs to be replaced in 10 years, I know it will be time to get new smoke detectors. It took less than an hour to install all four of the detectors which is also nice.

Nice easy upgrade.
Good price for a four pack. With the pigtail adapter, made upgrading from old Kidde system a breeze. Old backplates worked so it took about a minute to swap out each alarm. Ten year battery backup is nice, as the alarm will need replaced at that time anyways.
