Solar panel fails to charge

I love these cameras great quality clear pictures love their wireless. Sometimes sound cuts in an out a the battery drains to quickly depending on the weather. Their extremely easy to set up as well install a mount anywhere u want an have a very bright motion light. When I bought them the price was cheaper then they r now just a lil to high on price range. An the free recordings to them should last a lot longer then what it dose before u pay $100 for 60 days of recording

This Arlo outdoor camera has been a fantastic addition to my setup. I installed it on the fence in my backyard, and it took less than five minutes — super easy and straightforward. The solar battery is a huge plus; it keeps the camera charged at all times, so I don’t have to worry about running out of power or constantly recharging it. The wide-angle lens is one of my favorite features — it lets me see the entire backyard clearly, and the video quality is excellent, even at night. The night vision is really impressive; I can still see everything clearly, even in low light. The motion detection works exactly as it should — it only records when movement is detected, which saves storage and battery life. I use it mostly to check on my dogs when they’re outside, but it would also be perfect for monitoring a front door or driveway to keep an eye on deliveries or visitors. It’s reliable, well-built, and fits seamlessly with the rest of my Arlo system. I’m planning to expand with more indoor and outdoor units — it’s that good. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quality, worry-free security option!

First, I live in south-central Texas. I bought this to replace an Arlo Pro cameras I’ve had for several years. Rain finally got inside of one and did it in. Was not fond of replacing the battery every 6-8 weeks but I liked how the camera worked (I understand how IR so-called motion detectors work. They do NOT detect motion but detect temperature differences.) New camera does not have replaceable battery. So I bought the one that includes a solar panel. I did read and understand it’s small and only a trickle charger. I charged the camera and followed instructions to set it up. Then connected the solar panel to it. The field of view is wider than the Arlo Pro cameras I had, so that’s a big improvement. I believe it’s about 130*. Also, I guess my old cameras detection had been shrinking. The new camera detects motion at 90 feet distant like my Pro used to. As for the solar charger, it seems to work in that it charges the battery back to 99-100% with full sunny days. I believe the key is to start with a fully charged battery and make certain the solar panel is about a 45* angle and facing south. It plainly states in the solar panels docs (not included…you need to visit the Arlo web site) that it’s a TRICKLE charger. It’s not meant to charge a dead or severely depleted battery. If your camera sees a large battery drain they make & sell a larger solar panel that should work. Overall I’m very pleased with it. So much that I’ve ordered three more to replace my old Arlo Pro cameras. I just hope they last as long. One note- these cameras are 2K and have higher resolution so they use more Wi-Fi/internet data. Be aware of that if you’re on a metered internet connection like I am (rural).

Arlo cameras are good and very reliable. It’s internet connection does not get disconnected easily.
