I've been trying to read books again for the last couple of years without much success. In 2025 (and probably 2024), I never finished a single book that I started. That includes self-help, college textbooks, and friend's books! Fumbling with books, turning pages, trying to remember to carry it with me, all of that made it difficult for a working adult with a family to sit down and read, even for a few minutes. Not to mention my arthritis, needing to wear reading glasses, needing a light just bright enough to make out the words, and more. I ordered this Kindle on New Years Day and fully expected to get bored of it in a week and want to get my money back. I downloaded my first book (Included in KindleUnlimited), by an author I never heard of (even though she's critically acclaimed and has had books turned into movies) and started reading. I was INCREDIBLY SURPRISED how easy it was to read on this thing. It's MUCH better than a physical book, by leaps and bounds. I started reading the book on Monday and finished it by Thursday. I can't wait to start my next book! The book was good... and that kept me interested, however... a few things about the kindle made it easy to finish the book so quickly... 1) Mainly, it was how easy on the eyes and the size of the text. I didn't need my reading glasses at all and the text was clearer than any book I've opened in the last few years. 2) It's lightweight and fits in my pocket! I like to (try to) read books of all different shapes and sizes; from large hard back to small and thin paperbacks. It doesn't matter the author's preferred format, this kindle puts them all in my pocket with ease! Plus, one-hand reading is easy, I don't have to "hold back" the other pages while fumbling from page to page. 3) The feel of the screen is smooth and it's easy to turn pages with the same hand I'm holding it in, but even better with a quick swipe of my other hand. 4) It's just the right amount of brightness with the backlight. I can read it without the backlight sometimes, but I prefer the backlight already and my eyes don't strain. It does drain the battery much faster, but I believe I could finish an entire book without having to charge it at all. Overall, this thing is amazing and I look forward to expanding my mind and READING on my spare time instead of playing mind-numbing games on my phone. I do love my card and board games, but they might have to take a backseat. Both my phone and this kindle fit in my pocket easily so if I want to take a break from reading spades and backgammon are always available...

So far I LOVE it. The color is GORGEOUS and true to the pictures, the screen, when the brightness is turned down looks just like paper. I paid to have no ads and it is soo worth it, navigating through the device is super easy. Sometimes it takes a while to respond if it looking up a book in the kindle shop but other than that is responds super well. I've read some manga on it and the pages turn super quick and super easy to read on. It's small enough that u can take it anywhere I popped it into the rose kindle case as soon as I got it but this thing is pretty sturdy. There's no buttons which is kind of sad but the touch screen is textured and doesn't feel like an iPad or phone while ur kindle is off it'll display your book cover on the screen but u can disable if u want. Overall the experience is a 10/10 and I couldn't recommend it enough

This is great little Kindle Reader; I bought the Match green one & the color is perfect! It's lightweight, easy to handle, and fits perfectly in a purse. It's black & white screen is easy to read, and like the bigger readers, the font can be changed by font style and size to fit your needs. You can order books with this reader, but not Amazon's wide range) products. . The advertisements state that you can go up to 6weeks on a charge, but I don't believe that. I read a lot and I have charge it every day or two. All in all, I think this a great reader. I also bought the case and it's a great item also.

It's much smaller than I was used to, but I found I like the sleek style of it and it is easier to hold in one hand, especially in the car or on the bus. The size is a bit small to see the book icons, and there is no way to resize those. So just be aware of that. I often use more than one device so for me, this is mainly for lightness and compact-on-the-go. The matcha color is dreamy!!! So pretty and cute. I am glad I upgraded to a newer model and was happy they had this model available still. The speed is so much faster than my old model.

I wasn't sure I would like the light-up screen, but you can really dial-in how dim or bright you want the screen. It's really lovely to use on an airplane, when you're sharing a hotel room and even when your bedside lamp at home isn't super bright. When it arrived, it seemed way smaller and cheaper than any other models I've owned (which is many, many.) After using for a week, I've come to appreciate that it is lighter and smaller. The screen itself is the same size as my last one, but the plastic surrounding it is smaller. I really like the feature that auto-turns on the Kindle when you open the case. I didn't think I would care, but I quickly learned to appreciate this feature. My only beef with this Kindle, as with my last Kindle, is they took away the ability to rotate the screen in any direction a couple of versions ago. I really wish I could rotate this 180 degrees, as my case has a strap to hold the kindle, but the strap position for my small hands would be WAY more useful if I could hold the Kindle upside down. I have to believe that their Kindle consumer base is 50% or more female, but honestly, it does not seem like they test this product with women, because of issues like smaller hands versus case functionality. Amazon doesn't make the case, but it is one of their recommended options.

An amazing purchase! Lightweight, fits comfortably in my hand, and no delay for page turning. This is my first Kindle, and I am not disappointed! Makes reading feel almost like a game to win, with how it tracks your reading, updates Goodreads, and lets you know how many pages/how much time is left in your chapter or book. I also love the highlighting and annotations, it made note taking about points of interest so easy and let me add in my thoughts and reactions to specific texts. Amazing for my non-fiction pleasure reading!

I got my kindle the other day! I got the green macha one! Love the color and love reading it on it so far! I’m considering getting a colorsoft kindle but I’m unsure since I just purchased this one and I love it! I don’t have any graphic novels yet but have always been interested in them so don’t know whether or not to get a colorsoft or if it will just end up being a waste of money for some color ! The battery life on it is decent! I’m glad I don’t have to charge it every day! I read I’d say about a hour and a half to two hours a day! I don’t think the battery is as good as they claim it to be though! Maybe if you don’t read on it is but otherwise I’d say charge every couple of days! Anyhow it’s perfect for what I need it for! My only other complaint is the cost of the ebooks and almost everything you buy is a series so if you want to continue to read you have to give them your money! The best part too is that there’s more books to choose from here and it’s cheaper than a nook ereader!

Amazing investment in your mental health. I can't remember the last time I read a book, but somehow this device has made it easy! I'm starting easy.. reading books on TV/movies I've seen. It's so easy to purchase books , just with one click! The lighting doesn't strain my eyes , which is something I face while using my phone. I love the compact size and the matcha green color! It's so cute. I would recommend you pay the extra $20 to remove the ads , trust me , it's worth it.
