Creative DSxm Modular Wireless Subwoofer for D3xm and D5xm Bluetooth Speakers

My low rating is based on my use of the product as a computer and desktop soundbar. If I were assessing this as a generic soundbar, I would certainly give it a higher rating. The reasons that this product should never be considered as a computer or desktop soundbar are the following:1. The power button for the speaker is located in the lower back side of the speaker and usually requires having to find it by feeling for it. This is completely ergonomically flawed, particularly if you have this set up behind a monitor, laptop or against panel. The power button should on the front console panel of the speaker with all other operating buttons. Also, its very inconvenient, if you need to quickly stop the sound to take phone call and speak with some while using the audio. Your only option is keep pressing the volume button numerous time before the sound is completely off.2. The speaker will automatically shut off after about 5 minutes of non-use and inconveniently, will require you to press the inaccessible power button on the back again.3. There is no headphone jack on the front. All computer sound speakers require a headphone plug in case your need to listen to audio without disturbing colleagues or family.For the positives, the speaker is the perfect size as a desktop or computer soundbar with the appropriate power and sound quality. However, as a computer or desktop sound bar, it is completely flawed and inappropriate.

The Creative D5xm is smaller than I thought it would be, which can be a good thing or not depending on your expectations and requirements. I guess it's a good thing for me and it's smaller than the unit it's replacing, but I sort of expected a larger unit with more oomph. It does sound great though. I did buy the Creative DSxm subwoofer, which definitely packs a punch. Overall the combination of using both the D5xm and the DSxm sound great, but not sure they're worth the money. The D5mx looks very sleek and attractive as does the subwoofer. Bluetooth pairing with my iphone was very easy as was linking the speaker and the subwoofer. The iphone app is nice and I like the room calibration feature as well as being able to change the various modes. Well thought out app and overall ecosystem. Just not happy about the price.Great units though. I want to buy two more D5xms and link them with the party mode for music throughout the house, but I think I'll wait until the price comes down. The value just isn't here yet for this Modular Bluetooth speaker and sub.

Excellent sound!

Made an incredibly annoying crackling noise when connected with my cell phone and the sound hurt my ears more than most speakers.

I ordered this with great hope, but it did not deliver. The sound quality is average at best, and the Bluetooth streaming did not perform well, even with the Creative Bluetooth Adapter, at about 2 feet distance. Trust me, go with a BOSE system and you will not be disappointed.....

Excellent audio reproduction. One sounds better without the Sub-woofer. Two sound better with the Sub.

Curious to know how this device will connect with a TV? I have a smart TV but I don't think it has Bluetooth. Assume hard wire?
