Great movie to get on DVD, Blue Ray even better!
If you lived this movie as I did, you might want to watch it again at home. Got this DVD cause I wanted to see some scenes again. Some people are okay about streaming but I prefer DVDs because you can share it like a good book with your friends & family. If you haven't seen this movie...please do and you'll have a great movie night! Don't forget the popcorn & drinks!!!

Visually amazing, and the songs were good, too
Alright, gents, let's talk "Wicked" – the movie version, that is. As a guy who's seen the stage show, once I went in with a healthy dose of skepticism, but came out genuinely impressed. They've taken a beloved classic and given it a visually stunning, emotionally resonant cinematic makeover.First off, the world of Oz is absolutely breathtaking. They've translated the stage magic into a sprawling, vibrant spectacle. It’s like stepping into a living painting, every scene bursting with color and detail. It’s a feast for the eyes, even for those of us who usually prefer our entertainment with a bit more… explosions. The story, as always, is a masterclass in nuanced storytelling. It's not just about good versus evil; it's about friendship, acceptance, and the power of perspective. They’ve captured the heart of the show perfectly, and even added some new layers that really enhance the experience. The performances are top-notch. They’ve brought these iconic characters to life with such depth and authenticity. The chemistry between Elphaba and Glinda is electric, and their vocal performances are simply stunning. They deliver those iconic songs with power and emotion, making you feel every note.Look, I get it. Musicals aren’t everyone’s cup of tea. But "Wicked" transcends genres. It’s a story that resonates with everyone, regardless of their musical preferences. It’s about being true to yourself, even when the world tells you that you're too different. And that's a message that everyone can get behind. They've done justice to the source material, and they’ve created a film that’s both entertaining and thought-provoking. It's a movie that you can enjoy with your friends, your family, or even by yourself. It’s a feel-good experience that leaves you with a smile on your face and a song in your heart. Trust me, even if you’re a die-hard action fan, you’ll find something to love in "Wicked." It’s a magical journey that’s definitely worth taking.

My parents literally won't stop watching it.
I wish I were joking. They went to see this movie in theaters and loved it so much that they asked me to get it for them on Blu-ray. And now they won't stop watching it. For a while it was almost daily.

A One in a Million Masterpiece 🥰
Alright loves, time for an honest review on Wicked - the movie:I started loving Wicked as a child, seeing it on Broadway for the first time in 2005. As a little girl, no older than 4, the colors and singing reeled me into a life long love for the play — of course, nothing can make it better than the orginal cast. The next year, I was gifted the Wizard of Oz movie and of course Ruby slippers (because what 5 year old can go without), allowing me to further grow my love of the Oz world. Seeing the play again in 2013, I feel in love with Oz as a whole. When I heard in 2015 that there was talk of a movie version, I was a tad skeptical. By 2019, when I read the book version, I was very worried which way a movie version can go.With covid and working in healthcare, I looked no further into the movie until late 2022, when I heard that Ariana Grande had been casted as Glinda from a theatre friend. As a girl who grew up on Victorious and her music, I became excited for the future of the movie. Cynthia Erivio, I knew less about, only knowing her via The Greatest Showman and glimpses I saw of Harriet. By 2024, my skepticism waned, and like any Wicked enthusiast, I went to the theatre with mild unease, but came out with joy.The producers and actors/actresses were able to bring the wonders of Oz to tbe big screen. With action, color, glam, this is a must watch for all ages. It combines learning acceptance, the power of friendship, all the great teachings of the play into one. While I can admit, I’m not the world’s biggest fan of muscicals, this is one I will cherish time and time again.Even in the first few moment’s of the movie, it foreshadows the second act. Spoiler alert: I love the Easter eggs to the Wizard of Oz. With the well known songs of “Popular” and “Defying Gravity,” I felt a part of the world, especially when watching the 3d version. Who knew monkeys flying out the screen would give such a crazy jump scare? 😂But no more spoilers. I hope you and your families or friends enjoy. Please note, some parts may not be child friendly — just because I saw the play at 4 does not mean your child should. There is nothing inappropriate nor language, but it can be overwhelming and mildly violent with some more adult references. The physical DVD wise:The 4k dvd is “ehh” at best. The colors pop, but the sound vibrates every time a song plays, catching on major notes and ruining the show for me. I believe it’s just the dvd’s manufacturing, as playing the same version on MovieEverywhere does not lead to this annoying vibration/lagging. And yes, I did try three dvd player’s and multiple tv’s to verify it was not my ears — all player’s that are meant for 4k dvd’s. The non-4K DVD worked fine. If not for the DVD’s issue, I would have given 5 stars.
