KJV Concord Wide Margin Reference Bible, Black Calf Split Leather, KJ764:XM

I decided to go ahead and buy a wide margin Cambridge KJV bible and everywhere I looked it’s over $200 for calf split binding, I saw it here on Amazon for $128 like new so I went ahead and ordered it, I’ve been wanting to engage the scriptures with wide margin bible for better note taking, so it arrived today no box included I was a bit bummed out but to my surprise it’s a Cambridge wide margin in goatskin 🙏🏽 which costs almost $300 plus dollars everywhere I looked, so I was excited about that but it’s not in like new condition, it’s a bit roughed up but I’m perfectly fine with that it has small separation between the leather and text block but nothing extreme a little glue will fix that issue, besides I’m actually thinking about having it rebound but I love the feel of the Cambridge goatskin bibles so I’ll hold off on that until the leather on this one is shot, the ribbons are awful like all Cambridge bibles that’s an easy fix too, the inside of the Bible is clean absolutely no writing or highlighting and that’s something unheard of especially for a somewhat used bible the gilding is still good, I’m definitely not sending it back lol, I’ve been wanting this wide margin in goatskin for awhile but could only afford the calf split binding, all in all I give it a 10/10 I’m not a picky individual, I appreciate anything the Lord allows me to have and for the price I’m not complaining, I hope to pass this bible down to my little boy Ezekiel who’s 2 years old now God willing, this actually going to be the first time I’ll be able to take good notes in a bible so I’m very excited to start, the Bible’s size and print font are great in my opinion, plenty of room to write the paper is nice and thick no ghosting from what I can see so far, there’s plenty of empty pages in the back both blank and lined so this bible is great for those who love jotting down notes or even drawing, I definitely recommend this bible for anyone who loves to write. This is a beautiful Bible, exhibiting all of the quality I would want for this holy book. I purchased it because of its wide margins: I wanted space to make notes about the orignal Greek and Hebrew meanings of this English translation.The leather is substantial, the paper lovely, and in spite of the paper's thinness, the notes I make with a brown Pigma Micron .005 pen do not bleed through. (Because of the paper's thinness, they do *show* through on the other side, but it is still possible to write on the back side and read both sides clearly.)The print is smaller than I anticipated, but very legible, and including the column of cross-references in the middle of each page, fills a space about 4.5" x 7". Anyone who has difficulty reading fine print will want to choose another Bible. The cross references in the middle column are even finer print.This Bible has a concordance of about 100 pages at the back of the book, plus blank pages labeled A through Z, then perhaps 100 thicker blank lined pages, then 15 Cambridge Bible maps on this thicker paper. The Bible I use every day does not have extra material in the back, and the inclusion of all of this extra material, not quite a half inch thick, has thrown off my ability to estimate where the individual books of the Bible lie when I go to find a specific verse. It would have been helpful to me to have the Bible indexed. For now, if I insert a card in the Bible at the end of the book of Revelation, I can more easily estimate where the individual books lie and find my reference.I especially appreciate that this Bible lies flat when it is open. It is a little difficult to write in the center two margins, because the pages are curved up from the center of the book here.

Layout of this bible just invites you to study. There are numerous pluses about this bible. First, I was looking for a bible that was as close to the original languages as possible. The Cambridge text is very old and reliable. Cambrige has been making bibles for over four hundred years. Next, I wanted center column references with Hebrew / Greek clarifications. I was wanting a wide gutter so I could very easily read the text when I turned a page without using a hand to push down on the binding. I haven't yet written in the margin yet but there is much real estate (1-7/8") to do so. The pages are thick and the print is bold yet just a point larger would be nice, it is throughly readable and consistent. I Like the cover as it is sturdy and thick. This is a larger sized bible so be sure that you are ok with that. My copy arrived without flaws and I wanted to use my credit card points so I purchased from Amazon. Kudos to the seller for quality of merchandise.

If you are spending this much on a Bible, it is clear that you value the book very much. Physically, this is just beautiful, exactly as advertised. The shipping was about 1 week faster than they said it would take, and the packaging protected it well. Very happy with this purchase

This is a very well made Bible. My old one with the bonded leather did not hold up, however it is 20 years old and I have used it exclusively for many of those 20. The new Bible has pages that feel thicker, but the Bible feels the same in my hands. Love the wide margins for notes. I am glad to see Cambridge University Press has continues to print what I believe is a Bible of high quality for the everyday person.
