Versitle, professional, sturdy
This is perfect for gathering and centralizing all the USB and other power plugs for today's home theatre. More and more people are moving from intgrated compenets to distributed low power components for increased flexibility and low cost versus starting all over. This is perfect for centralizing all 120 VAC power taps and works well with/or without the rack.

Great PDU!
High quality power throughput. Sturdy mounting ears, and the outlets are positioned to minimize the annoyance that massive bricks cause.

Helps clean up low amperage rack installs on the cheap.
First things first, accept what this is. An overglorified, rack mountable, 15 amp power strip with 10 outlets. It is not a UPS, it is not a surge supressor, it is merely a PDU. It is limited to 15 amps of total current I work in large enterprise IT as a systems administrator, and I deal with rack PDUs all the time from the likes of Dell, Cyberpower, APC, Belkin, etc... I was doing a relay / networking rack install for my home training lab / office , and I wanted a clean way to run power to all of my devise. You may notice a good number of those devices are actually desktop type. And yes they have wall wart type transformers, and no they don't work well with the PDU. I had to run 1' power extensions from the PDU to the wall warts. 3M double stick foam tape holds the wall warts to the tray immediately above the PDU. It works great, and has as clean of a look as is physically possible considering the sheer volume of cables running to and from this rack. The PDU itself is bade of a sturdy metal construction housing, drilled for rack mounting holes, with a convenient master switch, and 10 standard black outlets along the back. A heavy duty, long power cable provides incoming power. I have mine set up as the only device drawing power from an OLD CyberPower CP585AVR UPS that I refurbished a few months ago. No more daisy chains of power strips hung off the UPS, and no more UPS on my desk. The UPS sits nicely behind the desk on the floor, and like I mentioned, the cables are routed neatly within the rack. All in all I am quite pleased with the reliability, and performance dollar for dollar that CyberPower products have provided myself, and my employers / clients over the years. I fully intend to continue doing business with them for the foreseeable future.

Electricity goes in one place & comes out ten others
As with many simple mechanical products, there’s not much for me to say here. Like my silly title: the electricity goes in one spot and comes out a bunch of others (if you plug things in there; no lightning bolts). I have no opinion about, nor tools to measure, the electricity that comes out of it, so I cannot rate it for noise or whatever. Heck, I didn’t even check to make sure every socket was wired correctly with an outlet tester. Shame on me. If I do, I’ll try to remember to update the review. I’m sure the joint on the safety cover over the power switch would wear out with a lot of use, but I’m hoping I won’t need to use it a lot. The switch works. It’s used to stop vampire loads wasting electricity. The build seems good. So far, I would buy more of these (I might, actually, buy another; my “studio” seems to never have enough electrical outlets). It could stand to have at least two sockets on the front. It’s odd that most rackable power strips are made with ALL the sockets on the FRONT. That’s why I chose this one: it’s the unit you get if you want all the clutter BEHIND the desk. Still, two sockets up front would be an added convenience, but the price was right for this one, and the more “convenient” rack strips were also more expensive. As others have said in their reviews, this product is not shipped in a proper shipping carton. It comes in an unprotected (no packing materials) basic manufacturer’s product box (low profile plain brown cardboard). Luckily, mine did NOT come damaged. I don’t know why Amazon ships these things in this way. They’re probably hurting themselves with returns due to shipping these without proper packing. The manufacturer should redesign their packaging so that it secures and protects the product. Then the pickers at Amazon’s warehouses wouldn’t need to pack it in another carton, which they already don’t do (probably because they don’t know they should).

Perfect in combination with a UPS
I added a UPS to my rack setup recently, so I needed to pull my old surge-suppression PDU and add one that doesn't have any built-in surge suppression (that function is handled by the UPS now). It voids the UPS's equipment warranty if you have devices hooked to a surge strip of any kind, so you need something like this instead. I'm very happy with what CyberPower produced here! Plenty of outlets, a nice long cord (it was overkill for my setup, but still great that they have it), and the plastic protective cover over the power switch is a nice touch to prevent accidental switch presses. It's a heavy gauge of steel and feels VERY sturdy. It's doing the job I bought it for, and it looks good in the rack. Great product.

Good value, high quality.
For a home-rack, this may seem expensive or excessive, but I have found this to be a very good value. The base model with 10 outlets is very heavy-duty and has a very thick power cord (14 gauge wires). The "spatter" texture is subtle and looks good. I only have a few very minor complains/comments: 1) the packaging is poor - mine must have been handled carefully, but I can see how the foam could crumble resulting in possible damage to the rack ears. The box isn't taped shut either, so it could easily come open in shipping. 2) The plastic cover over the power switch looks very cheap - it's somewhat flexible and works fine, though. 3) No mounting hardware - this isn't a big deal since anyone with a rack will likely have their own hardware (and it can vary based on the rack type).

This has worked flawlessly, no issues so far

Simple, Reliable PDU
This is a straightforward PDU that does exactly what a PDU is supposed to do, nothing more, nothing less. It has no surge protection built in, which was actually a requirement for me since it's connected to a UPS that handles that already.

Purchased two of these devices for use in our computer area - as an IT employee and manager with more than 25 years of experience, I can tell you that: - The fit & finish is on-par with PDUs from major brands and vendors (Dell, HP, IBM). The device feels premium (weight, balance) and ships with the mounting brackets built-in. Note that the mounting brackets are built onto the unit and cannot be removed; if you want to remove them, you will need to bend or saw them off. Note that mounting screws are NOT included - plan to purchase mounting screws or hardware separately if required. - The outlets are on the rear of the PDU. If you have wide power adapters ("bricks"), they will cover TWO outlets - plan to purchase short power cable extensions (if needed) to get full utilization of the PDU. - The lit power switch on the front of the device is a nice touch and appreciated. Anyone who has ever worked in a dense, rack filled environment will tell you that these save time (no tracing the cable to disconnect it) and make work easier. Users who deploy the PDU under a desk will appreciate that the power switch has a plastic cover that comes down over the power switch - the cover is semi-transparent, allowing you to see the light, but hard enough to prevent an accidental shutdown of the PDU with toes or shoes. - The PDU is longer than a traditional power bar. Plan for this before purchasing. - The power cable running from the back of the PDU is beefy. Use cable ties to attach it to a side rail of your equipment rack, or use Velcro ties to tame the cable. CyberLink has produced a solid switched PDU worthy of a place on your equipment rack at the office, or in your lab at home. The price is right for this enterprise-grade equipment - get a few, purchase some Velcro ties, and get to work. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Its the second one I've bought for my home switch rack. Solid plugs, proper guage cord.

I purchased this 10 outlet power strip to supplement my CyberPower CPS1215RMS which has the 12 outlets in total (6 in front + 6 behind). In my setup, I prefer the rear outlets that make my rack more tidy. The only issue I encountered is the spacing between the outlets. With the 10 outlets right next to each other, it leaves little room for AC/DC adapters. I ended up using some short power extension cords to get around it.

Had previously purchased a CPS1215RMS rackmount power strip in our media cabinet. This 'RM' unit is basically the same except all the plugs in the back of the unit which is more practical in an enclosed media cabinet than the 'RMS' with plugs front & back. Very solid unit, works well, even spacing for those odd ball component plugs. Also looks good in cabinet
