Great companion to the Mac mini M4
This hub is a great companion to the Mac mini M4 / M4 Pro. The build quality is great. The front facing USB-A ports and SD card reader slot are perfect complements to the USB-C ports available on the Mac mini itself. The SSD enclosure is easy to use and I was able to install a 2TB drive with no problem. The cutout for the power button is a nice touch. It was "hidden" in the initial announcement so it definitely caught the copycatters off guard. While I gave this a 5-star rating, there is still room for improvement.1) While this takes up a Thunderbolt 4 port in the back (or Thunderbolt 5 for M4 Pro), the connection is just USB 3.2. This limits the enclosed SSD to a lower speed than dedicated Thunderbolt 4 enclosures.2) And because it takes up a Thunderbolt 4/5 port in the back, having an additional USB-C port (or better yet, Thunderbolt port) in the back would be perfect.Sure, upgrading the connection from USB-3.2 to Thunderbolt 4 would make this more expensive. Perhaps a future pro version of the hub?

The perfect match to you base Mac Mini M4!
This is the perfect pairing with e Mac Mini M4, particularly the base machine - since it allows you to add drive expansion without cracking the M4. Simply set the Mini on the Hub, plug it in and go .... 30 seconds? Adding a drive to the internal bay, another few minutes at most - dead simple. Build quality is excellent, matches the Mini perfectly, even providing a cutout for the power button. Along with drive expansion, you get traditional USB ports and an SD slot. Again, perfect ..My only "complaints", and they are minor - one or two USB ports on the back of the hub (one even ..) and better fitment to the hub itself, the Mini has a tendency to misalign with the hub which upsets my OCD at times :)

Very impressed
As a Windows user for 30+ years, I had only used a Mac recently to consume content and not to create anything or store any files on it. I bought this and a 2TB SSD, along with a Mac Mini M4/ 512. Although it was a bit of a challenge to make the new storage available to PCs on my Windows network, it is working well now, and I couldn't be happier with the product. It looks like it was designed by Apple and the ability to install an SSD in minutes is great. I also appreciate all of the additional inputs. Very well designed and I will certainly look at other Satechi products in the future.

Ok, not amazing.
Every photo I saw of this setup showed the Mac Mini sitting level, but with actual cables hanging off the back, it ends up leaning back on top of the hub, which is unusual because it didn't do that when sitting on my desk. I would have preferred to have the USB A ports on the back of the hub instead (or at least some of them) because I could have then replaced the USB C to USB A hub I have on the back to connect to my older peripherables without having cables snaking from the front to the back. It's ok, just not as amazing as all the reviews promised.

Better than other hubs I tried...
I had tried a different hub for my new Mac Mini M4, but it fell short because it just had too many ports all driven by the power available thru a single Mac Tunderbolt4 port. What I like about this hub is that it does not duplicate anything that the Mac Mini M4 already has. The SSD is fast enough, the HDMI port supports my 2650x1440 Dell Monitor and you can add a second monitor thru one of the other 2 Thunderbolt4 ports in the rear of the case. All in all a pretty great product.

Great Addition!
Fantastic addition to Mac Mini M4. Love the extra USB-A ports and SSD storage. Wish it got more snug under computer.
