Platinum Mens Crew T-Shirts

I have never been a huge fan of Gildan tee shirts given the ones I have seen for sale in Ottawa where I live seem to be of a lower quality and price. However, I was pleasantly surprised when this package of tee shirts arrived. The fit is perfect. However, I say that with the caveat that I am waiting to see if they will still fit properly after a few warm washes. The other thing that impressed me was the soft, almost "polished" feel of the cotton. This suggests a garment of a higher quality than the normal run of tee shirt. The stitching along the shoulder line on each side of the shirt as well as around the neck is very nicely done. This also suggests a higher quality garment as well as assuring a really nice finish. I might add that the cotton is neither too light, nor too heavy, so I'd guess they could be worn comfortably either as an undershirt or just by themselves. I have always had a problem with sagging necks on tee shirts as they age. I prefer a tighter fit around the neck and only my higher priced tees seem to be able to meet this desired fitment over time. Whether or not these Gildans will do so remains to be seen. For now, they exhibit no sag, but again, the proof will be after a few warm washes. For the price, these "Platinum" Gildan shirts seem to be a pretty good buy.

Have been looking for something to replace the Hanes white t-shirts I bought for years. Recent purchases haven't been up to par (baggy necks being the main issue). These Gildan shirts are definitely a step up, both in fabric quality (soft & comfy, light-weight but not see-through) and in tailoring. Washed them in hot water, dried them on high: some shrinkage, but still fit just fine (I'm 5'11"/165 and wear a large). My definite go-to white t-shirt from here on out.

Gildan Platinum Men's 6-Pack Crew Neck T-Shirt, White, Medium The product was as expected in terms of sizing. I am on the small side of average height at 5'7" and about 149 lb, the garment fits well - it's not too tight under the arms, and is a good length. The finish is of a high standard, and it comes well packaged. My two points of contention would be: 1. The fabric is far thinner than the Gildan cotton tees I purchased about a decade ago. Those are still going strong after hundreds of washes and season upon season of wear. I can bet that this lot won't last that long - a few nicks will soon turn into holes. 2. The neck is either a little small, or it is positioned fairly high up. The top of the collar sits above my collarbone, most of my other tees sit at about half an inch below it. Besides that, it's far more economical than anything I could ever purchase in Australia, even after factoring in currency exchange rates and international shipping.

Soft, but for me, the sizing is the most important part. These shirts are perfect for me. I have reached that middle age point where my middle has expanded. I usually wear a large but they always shrink on first wash and make me feel like I am trying to shrink wrap my gut. Then I try large and the length is long enough to pass for a mini skirt. In an xl these shirts are perfect. When they first come in the mail, they are a little long, but after first wash they shrink about 3" in length. They are still long enough to tuck in. The shoulder seams fall just where they should. Perfect fit. 5'10" male, 190 lbs, working class build, some gut but broad in chest and shoulders. I highly recommend!

Pros are 100% cotton keeps you cooler and has a 'wicking' effect. T-Shirts are sized correctly and measure about 1"-2" longer than others so they stay tucked in better. Lighter weight so more breathable feeling. Cons are somewhat thin material. Must remove them immediately from the dryer (as the washing instructions clearly state) otherwise they come out quite wrinkled..... Bottom line is (IMHO) these are a bit too thin material to wear as a primary T-Shirt with blue jeans etc.. However as an 'undershirt' these are great (meaning you wear a shirt over them). Seem to last a good length of time, and priced very competitively.

Excellent value for t-shirts that hold up well and are very soft and comfortable. Not too heavy, not too thin. I wear t-shirts daily under a dress shirt and can get 2-3 years out of these before they are due for replacement. No shrinkage or twisting after washing.

If you’re in the line of work that requires a uniform and need a undershirt this is by far the best one you can get. The “Platinum” version of the shirt is the one to get since it’s extra soft and stretches nice. If you wear a vest (police or security) this is a top notch shirt to wear under the vest without irritation.

I get it -- you want a decent t-shirt without paying top dollar. Or worse, buying a real cheapo that sounds like a deal but wears/looks like a hobo rag. This t-shirt is for you. The medium seemed to be true to size out of the package but I was skeptical about how it would look/feel after washing. ADVICE -- wash it on cold (at least the first time) and dry low. The t's came out like a gem, very minimal shrinkage and were actually softer (some t-shirts seem super soft when new, then they're like sandpaper after washing). As some reviewers have mentioned, the sleeves are shorter (I prefer this, and hate long "grandpa" sleeves) and the neck fits trim, not tight. Length is good, but not super long if you want tuck-ins. We'll see how they hold up but very satisfied for price. I'm 6 feet, 170lbs and medium fits great. Trim but not tight. Only ding against the t-shirt is that it is slightly thin material (but not as thin as others). I also wish they had more colors than black/white in the Gildan Platinum.
