Elden Ring Nightreign (PS4)

Absolute masterpiece of a game! The skill ceiling is quite high so I would mainly recommend it for those already familiar with Souls games.

Meh. As a huge and long time FromSoft fan who has played every game they’ve made multiple times over and I’d consider myself a good FromSoft gamer, I was looking forward to this game immensely. But it somehow just hits a bit too different for my taste. It’s repetitive and doesn’t feel like you can stop and appreciate the game as the circle (of death lol) is closing around you so you can’t take your time and explore. It just feels like a rush campaign to get from A to B as fast as you can. All the items seem meaningless as does trying to build your character. It’s a game to have a few hours of fun playing but I worry it won’t have the longevity that all the other From games gave us. Maybe I’ll change my mind after a few months but as for now I’m a bit disappointed.

Excellent experimental game. Needs more content at launch ideally and more of what makes it good.
