Enphase Envoy-S Metered Communications Gateway ENV-S-AM1-120

This deserves a 0/5 rating. We ordered a metered solar gateway as shown on the title. When we received it we quickly noticed that the serial number on the box and the serial number on the gateway were different. We called the enphase customer support team and they were able to identify that both of the serial numbers were registered to an individual in Nevada. The serial number on the box was a metered gateway and was active at this persons property and the gateway inside the box was an inactive gateway from the same property and was NOT metered. They suggested that this person returned his non metered gateway but put it in the metered gateway box to return. I ordered a NEW METERED gateway and instead received someone’s used non metered gateway. I have sent it back and now it shows a carrier error. Will this ever end!

Instructions are not great.

Customer support from Enphase has been good so far, but the installer don't know how to install current transformers to monitor consumption, they are not certified by Enphase, this is a piece of high tech equipment, I paid for the latest and the greatest and now I can't get what I need from it. I have requested the installers company owner for help but so far no luck, he seems clueless also, this is something simple to do and I just read the instructions but since they got paid I expect them to be able to do this., they also are the only ones that can activate the consumption function on the Envoy S, so I'm going to ask Enphase to step in and see if they can do this. By the way CTs are around $20.00 a piece and 2 are needed. I have updated this post, again Tech support has been great, the only negative is that installers need to get certified on this equipment and the sales force also needs to be able to answer simple questions about the capabilities and features of this equipment, at least in my market area. I ended up installing the CTs and they are working fine now, and I can monitor consumption, I also upgraded to the manager's software at $250.00 one time fee and I can monitor panel level performance and generate some useful reports. I think Enphase needs to require certification for installers and companies need to develop a good training package for the sales force, otherwise a lot of customers are not going to get the information the require to make good use of what this equipment has to offer.

Old and outdated.They don't seem interested in making an adapter to the new iq products.Don't make the mistake of buying this over the newer products.This part is cheap. But worthless.
