The initial gimbal that was delivered to me had a battery issue and would not charge. After contacting the manufacturer, they quickly replaced the entire unit. All I had to do was email them and follow their instructions to send the defective unit back. They sent the replacement within a week, which I really appreciated. As for the gimbal itself, it works very well. Once I took the time to figure out the functionality, I found it easy to use and effective. Overall, I’m very happy with it and would definitely recommend it, especially at this price point.

I ended up returning this particular unit because the toggle switch was a little wonky and seemed slightly defective, but I genuinely believe I just received a rare dud. Everything else about this gimbal was impressive. The 3-axis stabilization is smooth and reliable, producing buttery footage even with quick movements or walking shots. I loved the lightweight, foldable design—it’s extremely portable and easy to toss in a bag for on-the-go use. The detachable remote is a brilliant touch and made filming solo much easier. Setup was simple, pairing with my iPhone was seamless, and the hohem app gives you even more control if you want to level up your shots. The battery life is solid, and I appreciated the build quality—it feels sturdy and durable, despite being compact. While I did return my unit due to the switch issue, I absolutely plan to repurchase because it checks all the boxes for a phone gimbal. If you’re a creator, traveler, or just want more polished mobile footage, this one is worth it.

A friend recommended this iSteady smartphone gimbal, and it arrived just two days after I ordered it—I couldn’t wait to unbox it! The all-black design feels solid and premium in the hand. I mounted my phone on it, but the moment I let go, it flopped down—gave me quite a scare! Turns out I hadn’t powered it on yet and was basically treating it like a regular selfie stick. Once I pressed the power button, the phone smoothly rotated into position—so elegant! Big thumbs-up for that moment alone. I tested it by shooting a short video and intentionally added some shakes. To my surprise, the phone followed the movements effortlessly, keeping the footage perfectly stable and smooth. Amazing! I used to rely on a simple selfie stick, always afraid to move because any motion would make the video jittery. My phone’s built-in stabilization helped a little, but it was far from enough. With this iSteady gimbal, I can finally move freely when filming! It also has a center-lock feature—the button sits right under your index finger, and pressing it feels just like pulling a trigger. Once locked, the subject stays perfectly centered in the frame, which is great for circular or tracking shots. There’s also an orange dial under my thumb; after connecting via Bluetooth, you can zoom in and out just by rolling it. Super convenient! That completely solves the problem of shaky footage caused by touching the screen to zoom. Overall, it’s a thoughtfully designed and very practical product. There are still a few more features I haven’t explored yet—but that’ll be for next time!

These are a great purchase and so easy to use. Great value. Built well. Functions well. Designed well. It is really stable. The software works great with Android. I had purchased one of their high end ones and I honestly prefer this one because there is no need to balance it. If time is important and you just need a gimbal for run and gun like travel blogging, this is an excellent option. Only real con is there is no mount if you wanted to add a light or microphone. Seems silly to me to even make a gimbal without a mount.

I absolutely love this. It is so impressive. Download the app, it enabled face tracking which is amazing! From inception camera mode to other modes like Dolly zoom etc. This is an absolute must have for anyone filming anything while travelling, going to cons, vlogging, content creator etc. It has a tripod base which you can attach or detach. The grip is smooth and the controls are easy to handle. The remote is amazing for using this for family pictures or poses or just freedom of shooting. I got mine on sale and it was 1000% worth it and I wish I knew about these things later. GAME CHANGER!

I bought this gimbal because I have been getting into TikTok content creation, and thought the hand grip would help with fatigue. Edit: I received the joysticks and they were for a completely different product, even though the website said they were replacements for it. Did a return and got a new one... Had a joystick but it was glitchy and shook no matter what you did with it, and after a couple months of use it doesn't even turn on anymore. Honestly... Just get a different brand because if this is the quality control they have they are just wasting your time. TLDR: Easy to use, app is not as bad as people say, very sturdy build, and it would have gotten five stars if the joystick on the remote was actually included. Had to buy a 2 pack from there website for $15. CONS: Let's start with the one and only flaw I have found, and the reason I gave it 4 stars. in the picture you will notice that the joystick for the remote is missing. This didn't fall off it simply wasn't there. This gives me the impression that there quality assurance isn't assuring. PROS: The battery life I actually very good, and that's not even after charging. Right out of the box I was able to use it for a full two hours without it dying. The movements of the gimbal was very smooth; it balances almost instantly as you turn it The grip feels nice in my hand and the fatigue I had from the past few weeks of filming was relieved finally with the ergonomic shape. The tripod and carrying case or a very nice addition as well, but I had better things to store it in and a larger tripod so they weren't really needed. This means I can't speak to there durability. The app was super easy to download and I am confused why it has such bad reviews. The video quality and AI tracking are actually extremely nice, and the people saying it was hard to figure out must not be able to read because it has an extensive tutorial right as you open it up. Not to mention the AI tracking and hand gestures explain themselves the moment you click the button to activate them. So, trust me... You don't need to be a professional to use it, and you should ignore the "hard to use" reviews. In general this gimbal works better then I could have hoped for, and for the price it's a no brainer. I would have given them five stars if I wasn't forced to spend an extra $15 on joystick replacements. I would have asked for a replacement, but I needed it that day and a 2 pack replacement seemed like a good investment if the original wasn't even included.

I realize in my video I didn’t show it flipping opposite pov but it does do so after reviewing instructions more further. 10/10 This doesn’t feel cheap, it does have weight to it so if you plan to use for vlogging on go keep that in mind, design is nice and clear to understand buttons and instruction guide does provide a lot of information how to use it and not leave you lost. The gimbal can be folded up and put in provided bag not holding up a lot of space with is nice. Remote control works well, compatibility with my iPhone 13 Pro Max works well.

I've not seen a review that mentions phone compatibility for Motorola phones, so I thought I would give a few insights. I am using the X3 SE plus with a Motorola G Power 2025. First, the jaws will not hold the phone in a thicker "2 piece" case that many people use. I have a thinner case ordered that should work, and the jaws hold it just fine without a case. Easy pairing with the phone but using the Hohem app is a bit wonky. In actuality, the app really doesn't add much but the time lapse and a few other effects. The zoom doesn't seem to work with the Moto and is not designed to work with the remote anyway (it uses the wheel on the side)- if I have to actually touch the gimbal/phone, it's about as easy to use the zoom on the phone screen. That being said, all the functions (start/stop, two button switch between photo/video, front/back camera switch) all work fine. So, I give the gimbal 4.5 stars and the app 3. The gimbal gets 4.5 because of the relatively wimpy tripod foot. It attaches with a 1/4 screw so I really don't see why they couldn't have included one with a bigger, more stable footprint. UPDATE- the Hohem Joy app zoom now works (probably user error). I do think the screen zoom may well work better and shake the camera less than the wheel. To solve the tripod problem I bought and inexpensive Neewer T505 tripod and it is perfect for the gimbal. The attached video and picture show the gimbal on the Neewer. The video shows how stable it is at approximately 7 foot extension.
