This combo was just what I needed for easy-carry fishing. The rod and reel both seem high quality and durable (especially for the price), and the lures included were even pretty good. Casting and retrieving is super smooth, and it comes with the perfect amount of braided line. The case is very nice and stiff enough to protect its contents, and it even fits in my backpack. What a great addition to my fishing gear! I'm very happy with this purchase. I bought another one for a friend of mine and he loved it too.

I order this is a light duty pole to keep for guests to use on the lake. Great accessories, compact package, good price. The reel handle cracked after nearly a year, so I emailed asking if I could purchase another. In a series of emails, all returned in 12 hours or less, they not only arranged a new handle FREE, but also shipped an entire new reel as a backup.

I rarely write reviews, but this one earned it with me. The reel is fine, the rod is less fine, but it is super convenient to keep in the car. In fact, because I had it with me, I was able to catch my first ever Musky while on a trip in Colorado. A one-day fishing pass and a convenient rod/reel was all it took. The line is fine, the lures are probably good/great for what you get. The grub hook broke in half as soon as I landed the Musky, so not the best quality. The reel is decent overall. The rod is the worst part, as the weird gold pieces spin and are annoying, but other than that, it works just fine. I've literally thought about buying a few more to keep around just in case.

This is my second Sougayilang telescoping rod. (The first died a horrible death under the tires of my car—I can hardly blame the manufacturer for this!) These are excellent rods and I love traveling with mine. Flexible and strong, they are a great way to fish anywhere. If I had a complaint, it would only be that the storage sleeve is made for the rod alone, and doesn’t cover the rod and reel combo. Not a big deal, but makes the sleeve less useful for me. The reel is fine, typical of reeled in this price range. Good value.

Fishing pole worked well for the first trip. On my second fishing trip, the extendable handle at the bottom became unglued from the threaded portion. Just something to note of the build quality.

This is my second order because my son took my first order. This telescoping rod is awesome. Easy transport. I keep it in my backpack when hiking and easily pull it out when ready to fish. Recently pulled in a huge large mouth bass with ease. Casting is smooth and tension adjustment is accurate.

The "telescopic" is 100% crap. Rod would not fold up after opening the first time. I was gentle with it while opening. Didn't even get it wet. Even tried a little oil but to not avail. I went ahead and put the rest together and tried to use it. The reel is not too bad. The rod though is just aweful. Some of the eyelets would spin around when using and the flimsy pieces at the top keep retracting in when I casted. Unfortunately, I could not return it. I had it sent to my vacation spot so it would be there when I arrived. It would not retract enough to fit in my luggage to take on flight back home so I had to leave it behind. Waste of hard earned money- don't make this mistake!
