Non gmo?.. “lucky lady’s” are the only ones that say non gmo, and if it’s pasture why gmo anyway?

The color of the egg yolk is the result of the hen's diet and the type of grain that's fed. Darker yellow yolks are a result of corn being the higher percentage of the feed ration, and lighter yellow yolks are a result of wheat being the higher percentage of the feed ration. The percentages vary depending on the farmer's management technique. Even though they are pasture raised the diet fed the chickens is genetically modified.

Do these need refrigeration?

Unlike most other countries, in the US eggs are washed before being sent to the stores. This washing removes the natural protective layer that eggs have, making it easier for bacteria to enter through the shell. For this reason, eggs in the US MUST be refrigerated, unlike other countries where they use other treatment to clean the eggs and they are naturally protected.

What is the difference between their products? You have the black, brown, white and green packaging...

Brown is organic, black is "tended by hand" whatever that means and white is non gmo

Is this in plastic or in compostable carton? I don’t want to buy these hyper-expensive eggs if they are just going to come in toxic plastic packaging

So far,, the products I purchase from Vital Farms come in what appear to be biodegradable cartons, and those cartons of eggs are additionally safely packed within sturdy cardboard to protect the eggs in shipment, I suspect by Amazon Fresh. I've purchased the eggs several times as of recent and only once have found any broken or stuck eggs in the cartons - I suspect due to a shipping issue though I don't know for sure. I'm impressed with and grateful for the great care and quality of Vital Farms food products, and am grateful they're available and within my reach. In fact, Vital Farms is my current preferred brand for both eggs and butter because I am concerned with my health and that of Mother Earth.
