Nice, mellow kosher salt with larger flakes
Love this salt and was so happy to find it through Amazon, as one of my smaller, local markets was selling it for $14.95 for the same 16-ounce size. But then, a few months after I bought it on Amazon, I found it at Safeway for just under $4. But if you can't find it elsewhere, the Amazon price is well worth it. For baking and most other purposes, Diamond Crystal kosher salt is my go-to, and I use the David's as more of a finishing salt because the flakes are larger and more delicate, making it a great choice for salads, as well as recipes calling for sprinkling with salt to finish home-made candies, desserts, focaccia, etc. I find that kosher salt has a softer, more mellow taste than other salts, and doesn;t have the isuper-salty punch of sea salt, which I use only when a bit of briny flavor will complement a particular dish. I once saw an Amazon review for Tellicherry pepper, (which is my preference for peppercorns), and the reviewer just wrote succinctly: "What's the big deal? Pepper is pepper." I remember thinking that if my taste buds didn't notice the difference between various black peppers -- and all other food products I'm particular about, I could save myself of a lot of money! If you share that reviewer's take on pepper, you may not care about the differences in salt either. But for those who like having a kosher option in the cupboard, this is a lovely choice. After my first purchase of David's kosher salt, I didn't want to be without it, which is why I searched it out on Amazon when I was having trouble finding it closer to home.

This is my "regular" salt
This stuff tastes better than other salt. I use it for cooking and it's my regular table salt. Tastewise, this stuff goes a lot further than other salts, so you use less of it. I used to have Himalayan pink salt in a grinder, but I liked this stuff better.

Too coarse
I find this hard to cook with. Flakes are too large and coarse. I wish this was clearly marked on the label. Because the flakes are big, it taste extra salty and it just hard for me to gauge during cooking

TRUST & TASTE
David's is a brand I trust over others for its purity and quality. Amazon is the only place I've been able to find it. David's has a pure taste. I would definitely recommend you give it a try.

The 'Top Dog' of Kosher Salts
Difficult to find in local grocery stores. Located it once, and it vanished off of the shelves. Excellent flavor. Great product. Will not dissapoint.
