So addictive
This has 12 games in it. You can play them as a test once a day, choosing between 3 choices of 4 games. You can also play them in practice mode and at different levels. For the test, you get stars depending on how well you do.Bingo: You have to match up the sum with the problem. Example: 16-3=13The game starts with addition, subtraction and works it's way up to adding multiplication and division.Fold the Cube: You're shown the unfolded cube, with different symbols on each square of it. Below are choices with the symbols shown on it, and you have to figure out which is the correct one.Pyramid Sum: You're given a pyramid of spaces, with a few filled in with numbers. Below are numbers that you have to put in the right spot to equal up to the next level, and the next, and then the top.Math Pairs: Basically the same as Bingo.Four Color: You're given a rectangle with different sections each time. You have four color (pattern choices for my kindle) choices, and fill them in. The color choices can't have the same color/pattern touching itself.Symbol Swap: You're shown a pattern of shapes, and have to memorize them. Then one of those shapes is changed, and you have to click the right one.Tiler: Given a pattern of different tiles, and you have to try and put them in the right order.Code Breaker: Given three (on level one) different blank squares, with different symbol choices to fill it in with. You get so many chances to guess the correct pattern, and it tells you if you have any in the correct spot, some that are the right symbol but not in the right spot, and some that are wrong.Linker: You have to make lines from one symbol (a gear for example) to it's match. There are four sets, eight symbols total, and the lines can't intersect.Memory Pairs: The game memory really. In the Box: Symbols go in and out of the box, and you're supposed to remember the ones that are still in the box at the end.Symbol Block: You have to look at a page of shapes, and find the four (2 by 2) shapes that have only one of each of the four shapes in it. (Square, Yin Yang, Star, Circle as an example)I think I got all of those right, but if I didn't, I'm terribly sorry.

Logic puzzles, memory puzzles, and more.
I got this because I enjoy puzzles and brain-teasers, not to "train my brain" in particular, so my review is based on how much I enjoy using the app. Brain Trainer offers 12 games in four categories: number, spatial reasoning, memory, and logic. You can take a daily test that includes one game from each category and awards you "stars" -- the tests start on the easiest level and your stars buy you more challenging puzzles. You can also play all the games you want, as often as you want, on any difficulty setting, by choosing the "practice" section. Your daily high scores are tracked with bar graphs and you get little awards for personal best scores. Up to four users can maintain separate game accounts to track their progress. Two of the number games involve matching arithmetic problems with answers, and are dull. The third involves using logic to fit numbers into a pyramid grid so that the lower numbers will sum up correctly to the higher numbers on the pyramid -- this is very fun.The spatial games include matching a folded-out cube with the correct folded version, filling a diagram with four patterns so that no two touching areas contain the same pattern, and finding groups of shapes in a diagram. The pattern puzzle in particular is super-fun and addictive. All three memory games suffer from using a black-and-white interface, and symbols that are too similar to each other. There are much more enjoyable versions of "concentration" online using nicer graphics. The logic games include a Mastermind clone, a game where you fit patterned tiles into a grid so that all touching edges match, and a game in which you connect pairs of like symbols with lines, without crossing the lines over each other. All of these are fun.Because the games are randomly generated, you will never run out of fresh ones to play. Brain Trainer includes five games I love, five duds, and two that are fun to play occasionally. For the price, I consider this a bargain!

Brain games
It provides challenges of various kinds but it seems rather simple so far and it becomes annoying when it only allows you to play one of each of the four categories in one day. I would much prefer to be able to play a set of four challenges and then go on to the next set rather than wait for a different day. Many of the "training games' also seem to be rather simple, although since it measures the time you take to complete the task, it may not be as simple as it appears. Not overly challenging but enjoying nevertheless as you want to get to the next level.
