Purchased this HYDE Acrylic Knockdown Knife for exactly what it’s for. I purchased a home that needed lots of remodeling and doing a lot of the work myself it’s hard to find good tools even at hardware stores. For me this type works best. I removed all of the popcorn ceilings in the home and then decided to do a knockdown texture on the ceilings as that’s on some of the ceilings and walls already. This did exactly what I needed it for. Knock down the mud. After spraying up the mud with a hopper this handy tool always does the trick of knocking it down almost perfectly each time. Many tools can be used. This is just a favorite of mine. Each persons taste is different, but I would like to think it works well every time I use it. It’s my go to for any knock down texture.

Learned that knockdown finishes on a ceiling takes some time learning the tricks. The right mix of compound, proper spray pattern, and the amount of time to set up before knocking down are critical in obtaining a nice result. Practice and patience are a must. If you don't have that, don't buy this and call a professional! But, once you have it dialed in, this tool works great. I've attempted to use a 12" mud knife in the past for knockdown with poor results. This tool has saved me from a lot of aggravation. Would recommend.

We purchased this knock down knife for our first dry wall knock down project ever . It was really easy to use and made the project go really well . These knife edge is very flexible which helps to keep you at the appropriate pressure on the finished blade . The handle fits the hand very nicely and is long enough where you can reach an 8’ roof with out a ladder , We made sure to wipe the blade off frequently to prevent build up , did a whole basement without issue very happy with the result . DIY must have tool . Honestly just holding this thing in your hand you know you have the right tool for the job before you even start .

Works fantastic for a DIY knockdown ceiling. Very happy with it. Don't forget to take off the white plastic before using!
