My mom says these are the best espresso beans she's ever tried which kind of says a lot as her mom was always had some around.Personally I bought these because the spotted ones looked like the ones you get from the Human Bean coffee shop and just wanted to try them to see. This was the smallest container I could find. That's not a good thing. These really are very good. I've killed more than half of the jar already and it hasn't even been a month.As for the comparison, I should buy a small pack from the Human Bean and try them side by side but my taste buds honestly aren't honed enough for the comparison... Well, these taste amazing, regardless, and I'm fairly certain they're at least close enough that any fans won't be disappointed.Con: the white ones make up like 60% of my entire jar. That's excessively uneven. It's like buying a pack of starbursts that only has one cherry or bags of skittles to find that there are only two limes. Like why'd you even bring the flavor back if were going to be so stingy about it?! But I digress. It's a shame that quality assurance can't cover an even distribution of flavors.

These espresso beans tasted wonderful! There was a good mixture between the flavors of chocolate. Have recommended them to my friends.

I was looking for some way to get caffine for when I get tired at work since I hate coffee. I am trying to follow clean eating which these are definitely not, so next time I will look into some chocolate covered espresso beans from a company that uses grain sweetened chocolate. With that said, I decided I would allow myself to try these out and they are very addicting and taste great. I will agree with other comments that they are mostly chocolate and I would prefer a higher bean-to-chocolate ratio, but they taste so good I still gave it 5 stars. For those who are curious, I took a couple pieces and measured the diameter before and after letting the chocolate melt in my mouth to extract the bean. First of all, there is 1 whole bean inside each piece not chips of bean as one previous reviewer mis-stated (by one whole bean I mean the hemi-spherical bean which I guess is actually one half of the original "bean", but whatever). The diameter of the chocolate piece is about 11/16 inch, and the diameter of the bean is about 3/8 inch. This is roughly measuring the narrow dimension of the oval-shaped bean and chocolate, but using the formula for a sphere this equates to the bean making up approximately 8% by volume of the total chocolate piece (remember to cut the sphere volume of the bean in half since it is only a hemisphere). I don't know how this compares to other varieties of chocolate covered espresso beans since I have only had them once and that was almost 10 years ago, but I hope I can find a variety that has a higher bean ratio since I do not want all the calories from the chocolate, I just want a little bit to take the edge off of the bitter bean taste.
