JDR 400W Fog Machine Review: I've had this since 2021. I just found it in my attic and plugged it in and it's still working like it did the first day. No issues at all. These machines i've bought in the past didn't even make it through 1 season. This is still going strong. Review: Smoke/fog works and led light work. However the machine delivered to me is not exactly like the pictures - pics show a power button and a led light button at the back - what I got is only a power button. Also the remote control looks different. So I cannot turn off the lights, even with the remote control. The machine takes a few minutes before smoke can be released, there is no indication of when it is ready but give it 3 min and it works with remote or foot button. However you have to press continuously to make it release, and it only works for max 1 min before it needs to warm up again for 3 min and then you can try again. So for the purpose I had in mind it is ok but for a party or decoration it is too manual…

I love the thickness of the fog. This machine gave my party a very nice feel and look. It felt like if I was at a disco. I wish the lights flashed or moved. Everybody were impressed. I used it in a small place, the living room and entryway, which are next to each other and they’re not too big, so maybe this is why the fog were more intense. I used around half container of fog liquid of around 32-48 oz, for around 5-6 hours pressing it frequently. I don’t know why it stopped working after like 5 hours. I didn’t checked why it stopped working yet so I don’t have an answer. Something to know! I tried it days prior of my party and the fire alarm got triggered with the fog. So at the time of party I took out all the alarms from my second floor apartment and none of the alarms from other apartments were triggered. Other than that loved it and recommend it.

For the price I think it's a great value. But it's not perfect. I used it to give the effect of a volcano erupting. I think it did pretty well even though I had it in a tight cardboard box at an angle and I just cut a hole at the top for the smoke to escape. I made my own fog liquid with vegetable glycerin (belle chemical medical grade which was the cheapest i could find + poland springs distilled water), and the fog was very thick and rose above the house making it look like the house was burning down. I forgot to take any video in use unfortunately. The first thing I noticed was the back panel where everything plugs in is not flush and you can see the circuit board through the gap. It also moves a lot when you plug/unplug. So that was an immediate sign that the quality was not top-notch. But otherwise it feels pretty sturdy and solid metal. The other issue is that you have to press the button for the smoke to work (rather than have a timer function or a smart switch). The remote feels plasticky and cheap but has good range. Also you can't just keep using it continuously as I assume it is either overheating or needing to heat up more liquid. If you need perfect timing and your smoke on cue I wouldn't suggest this. Edit: Mine still works and we're approaching 2026!
