Can you use a reusable filter for this machine, and if so what brand/size is recommended?

Yes. I’ve been using one of these for over a year. Quell Reusable Coffee Filter for Kalita 185 The fit isn’t perfect, but it works and the coffee tastes better. I’m usually brewing 2-3 cups (15oz).

how tall is this coffee pot?

It's about 14" tall, 7" wide, and 11" deep. The lid to access the filter and coffee grounds is on the top of the unit and lifts straight up so you will need to account for that, too. I can't find how tall the lid is, but I would guess that it's probably an additional 6" when open.

What are the dimensions of the appliance?

6 7/8 inches wide, 10 1/2 inches deep, 13 1/2 inches high It makes good coffee very quickly.

DELICIOUS coffee FINALLY

So after my beloved National brand coffee maker (which I bought off a guy leaving Japan three decades ago) finally died at age 30, I went through the hell of trying to find a simple coffee maker to do the same great job. Yup, it took another five years to find one after failing with several costly others. This one by OXO was rated by several people on the web so of course it's easy to be skeptical, but one review convinced me to try it. Lo and behold...delicious coffee SO simple to make is BACK! Keeps the coffee HOT without burning it like my beloved National used to do, so it one upped it lol. Yeah it's great, Alice. Worth every penny. Get one.
