Q: Can it use rechargable batteries?

All AA and AAA rechargeable batteries are only 1.25 volts each. All alkaline and carbon batteries of this size are 1.5 volts each; using two produces 3.0 volts. Always avoid using rechargeable batteries if you want to have maximum power.

Q: What is the max electrical charge in mA?

The booklet says 70 volts at 500 ohms. Using the conversion factor of 1000 mA per volt, that means this unit has a maximum output of 70000 mA at 500 ohms (whatever that means). Considering the fact that the average TENS unit outputs about 80 mA, 70,000 mA seems like enough electricity to supply power to New York City for a week. I'm joking but that amount does seem extreme. Maybe someone with some knowledge of electricity can make sense of it.

Q: How long are the cords on the unit? I need it for lower calf pain and was wondering if they are long enough to fit under clothing to use at work.

They should be long enough to reach from the lower leg, up over your waste band and into your pocket. The unit is marvelous.

Q: Do I need to replace pad every time? Or between family member use?

No the pads get replaced only when they no longer will stick to the skin. I have used mine for over 50-75 times and they still stick, although I have rinsed them with water a few times. As for sharing between family members, I'd probably want my own set of pads.
