Very pleased with the color of the light. Wish the mirror was a bit bigger.

Love this mirror. Not a huge fan of the magnification, honestly would rather it didn't have it but I still like the mirror and use it every day! The charge lasts for a good amount of time before needing to charge again (if you turn it off when not using it. If you don't turn it off it will automatically turn on when there is any light/motion changes near the mirror and that drains the charge very quickly) so just remember to turn it off when you're not using it and you won't have any problems. The charge lasts at least a week when turned off while not in use! Besides the magnification, I wish it had a taller stand or an adjustable stand. It is shorter than it looks in the pictures.

Fantastic Mirror. We own two simplehuman 8" Vanity Mirrors, and their 5" travel mirror. We bought this for daughter's bedroom.... she loves it! I estimate that the magnification is 20% greater than the 8" mirror, but nowhere near as high as the powerful magnification of the 5" travel mirror. The light is fantastic and it operates as it should. It goes on when approached, and turns off shortly after moving away from it. I will buy another for a vacation rental with a smaller bathroom. This renders colors very well - it passed the reds and purples test, these colors look true, as they do in other quality light such as sunlight and incandescent light (both High CRI lighting). CRI is short for Color Rendering Index. A cheaper LED mirror we bought from a competitor had horrible color rendering with a green tint; in addition to makeup colors being way off, you looked sick in it - with a zombie like skin tone - yikes! The Head of this mirror flips over completely and becomes shorter - so there are 2 discrete height levels. I will try to post a photo for size comparison. This is an LED mirror so it has no toxic mercury or eye damaging UV light like fluorescent lamp based vanity mirrors. The mirror part is 6.5 inches in diameter (not including the light ring).

I love Simplehuman products. They are very smartly engineered and worth the money. You get what you pay for. That being said I did not like this because the magnification was too intense. After spending way too much time debating on weather to get this one and the 8" one I went with this one based on the simulated image on their website of the magnification. My wife used it once and said it took her almost twice as long to do her makeup because of the strong magnification. I would love to see them create an option with no magnification and that would be the one that I would purchase. Sadly I returned this one.

- Light is great- Magnification is great- Auto-turn on/off sensor was broken, so it just stayed on. I had to manually turn on and off every time, which is fine, but for a $200 mirror (with tax included), I don't know what I was paying for in the premium cost. I'm very glad I bought this mirror. The magnification and lighting are excellent. I like the convenience of the auto on and off feature, although I think you have to be willing to accept that it will sometimes turn on when that was not your intention. In my bathroom, it works best if I keep it turned sideways and then turn it 90 degrees toward me when I want to use it. I have been using it daily for several weeks and have not recharged it yet.

great idea, but the mirror is way too small given the magnification. I actually need the high magnification to put on makeup, my eyes are pretty bad, but the size of the mirror is not intended for this. I'd love a larger make-up mirror with more than 5x magnification. I'd buy the really big one if it had it, that's a killer mirror.

Bought this for my mother after using one in a hotel. The mirror is SO clear and the sensor feature is just cool. You get close to the mirror and it lights up for your face. There are times that the sensor doesn't work perfectly, but all it takes is to back up and try again. Great product, though pricey.

This mirror is very "zoomed up" and highlights imperfections in makeup application (and my skin!) - as a result I can make sure I refine my look even more. The ring light goes on when the sensor picks up that you are there. Sometimes, especially if it is low in charge, the light turns off very quickly and you have to make a movement in front of the sensor for it to switch on again. This can be quite annoying as the light going on/off repeatedly can make your eyes fuzzy and if you are doing close-up work on your face, it is really unhelpful if the light keeps going off. If I needed to buy one again, maybe I would look for one where I have more control over the light being on/off. But overall, it is a very useful mirror. 3 years on, it is still doing well. It has a usb charging port, and comes with the UK 3 pin plug attachment as well as the 2 pin attachment.

Good magnification. The light can be a bit tricky - but overall a great mirror for makeup and close up tasks.

Well made and looks good. Generally automatic light works well but occasionally switches off while I'm still shaving, causing me to have to move to re-activate it - hence only 4 stars. First charge has already lasted for several weeks of shaving. Overall a good product.

Gave my daughter in law this for christmas and she is really well pleased with it. Her Mum was so impressed she intends getting one for herself. I am also going to get one because it is just so good.

Same here, the sensor just stopped working after about month. I have to manually turn it off and for the price this is a feature that should not happen with.
