Has the label changed? The one I received says Dry Weather rather than the Dry* Lube

The dry lube is essentially for dry weather. My understanding is that it is wax-based which keeps dirt off the chain in dry conditions. If you ride in the rain, there is a wet lube and so called hydrodynamic which gives a “ridiculous” protection rating - I’m not sure if that’s good or bad (or just bad marketing :) Overall, I’m happy with it.

Can i use any degreaser to clean my chain prior to application? Muc offs drivechain cleaner is kind of pricey...

I typically use Simple Green mixed a bit strong, let it sit for a bit, agitate, sit again, agitate again. Blast with water. Let dry, apply. It all depends how often you ride, as well as how dirty it gets. I try to do mine every 2 months or 3 with the deep cleaning. Here in Arizona, we get a lot of fine dust that does not build up quickly. That said, I have over 10k miles on my chain, all the cog teeth look new, as well as the chain stretch is only .5. So, keep your gear clean. Again, in between cleanings, I will add the Muc, ride, then wipe it down. Seems to keep a lot of the gunk from accumulating!

Will this work for replacing pedals ? A replacement for grease?

Chain lube like this is too thin a lubricant for pedals, headsets, bearings etc. Mechanics recommend bike-specific grease, for example HPG-I by Park Tool. There are of course many equivalents for that kind of a job. You just don’t want the pedals and the cranks to seize, to corrode into one piece of metal. That’s the bottom line. You always want to be able to remove and replace pedals at will.

Can I just apply this to my bike chain without washing the chain everytime?

If wax lube is applied to a dirty chain the grease, grit & particles the wax lube is intended to keep out will be trapped in. Zero Friction Cycles on YT explains it in detail & also recommends Super Secret Chain wax.
