Get Down Anytime With This One!
If you were born in the 50's or 60's, you will know every song on this selection and will probably be able to remember where you were, and more importantly, what you were doing 'back then' when the music played. I experienced this DVD while out with my coworkers and it wasn't long before we were up and 'doing the hustle,' laughing and swapping stories from the past. The music is infectious. I reminds me of a great time in my life when worries were few and the future held unlimited promise. I'll bet you will feel the same way, too. But it gets better. I ordered the DVD and played it at home. Everyone got down in my home! From my husband, born in the 50's to my daughter, born in this decade, and everyone inbetween. Disco Explosion Live would be great for getting together with friends and reminiscing, teenage dance parties, or just boogying to around the house.

Why?
I like that most of the performances were live. Didn't like how it cut Donna Summer's Last Dance in mid song though.

It’s late 70’s-80’s at it’ finest; a must buy if you’re into that era
I bought this after I returned the exact same video but made somewhere in Latin America. The one from Latin Am. sounded weird - the singing was kind’a off. This video though is the exact same thing I watched on PBS. It’s late 70’s-80’s at it’ finest; a must buy if you’re into that era!I bring it to gatherings and evetybody enjoys and dance to it! And the singing is not off. Uf you are getting one, make sure you’re not buying the one from Latin America. The cover of this one is different from the other.

Good Memories
"Get Down Tonight" features a one-night reunion of hot disco acts from the 70's. Although the artists work in a medium that prizes youth but tends to take a lot out people over time, the singers and musicians have fun and every one of them delivers a fun performance on this DVD. Would like to have seen Donna Summer be part of the show, but her video at the end is enjoyable.

Disco Classic
I purchased this DVD on the basis of the reviews it got from music lovers. I was not disapointed. What stunning performances from all the artists. The video is also wel recorded. The colour is good.I would recommend this to all 70's & 80's music lovers. Many of these artists never visited South Africa, sovideos like this give us an idea what taken we missed during the apartheid period. If there are any other similar dvd's let me know. I have also purchased the Get Down tonight Vol 2 dvd. Also a classic. Thanks and enjoy!!!
