Sweet stone would reccomend
This stone puts a better finish on my blades than my 70$ cerax 5000 grit. I haven't tried the all the other brands 80$ stones, but based on its performance over the more expensive, better reputed cerax, I'm sold on this one. Does it clog up and take 3 seconds to run a diamond plate over to clear it? Yes. Does it have the feedback of a more expensive stone? No. But it puts an awesome finish on your blades and it doesnt cost half what the others are charging. I use it for finishing after using 1000grit stone. Wouldn't want to try and remove a bunch of material with it.

Very nice I must say
This is a really good little stone. It is a little small. But it's a fantastic little finishing stone. It gives a bright, polished finish that exceeds what some 5 or 6k stones leave you with. If you handed it to me and told me it was a 6k I would probably believe you. It's quite hard for a King stone, strikes me as harder than their 6k "S" stones which I wouldn't classify as soft. It cuts relatively fast for a stone of this grit as well. It not only leaves you with a bright, polished edge, but also a very sharp and refined apex with the perfect amount of bite for my taste on most steels. It's getting a little fine (and small) for cheap stainless kitchen knives (but great for higher quality knives) but it's excellent for woodworking tools and carving hatchets etc. I removed mine from the base so I can use it when I want to take the stone to the tool instead of the other way around. Honestly I'm very surprised how good this little guy performs. I have much more expensive stones in the 5kish arena and this one competes with any of them. Like I said, it's hard, does NOT need a soak despite the description, doesn't release abrasive quickly and holds its shape well, cuts well for the finish it leaves, and has adequate feedback. It feels more "lively" than something like a Shapton Pro/Ha No Kuromaku 5k for example, which feel a little more "dead" and "soulless" IMO

Good stone but package was opened.
It's a good stone. Realize that it's not a full size stone, nor a professional stone. Not going to be the best choice for long kitchen cutlery. Mine shipped really quickly but the packaging was destroyed. The stone was not damaged though thankfully. At least it did get shipped in a box. Well, I used this stone to finish some kitchen knives(paring knives). It did a nice job, doesn't cut super fast but quick enough. It left a nice polish and a smooth, but slightly toothy edge that will be perfect for what they get used for. Barely started to wear the print off the stone, should last a long time. Typical King stone.

Great stone!
King makes awesome whetstones! Leaves a great finish. I bought this to go with some diamond sharpening stones i purchased. I was so excited to try this i used an old stone i had to sharpen a pocket knife. I was extremely happy with the results and i know i will get even better results when my new diamond stones come. The stones i used to get a decent edge on the pocket knife are pretty awful, but it is better than before!!

Very good value for money
I am a sushi chef so having a sharp knife is important for me. This whetstone has allowed me to cut through paper without putting any force on the knife. Only minor complaint is that it is a bit small, but it’s not impossible to work with.

Great stone for the price
This stone is much denser and tougher than the double-sided chinese stones that this one replaced. The glued-on base requires some getting used to, but I expect this feature will allow me to keep using it effectively as it wears thinner over time. As a professional chef who has two full sets of knives, a stone at this price point is a deal if it can last a reasonably long time. Professional stones get much more expensive and require a separate base to use effectively.
