An Instant Favorite in our Household!
My 3.5 year old daughter loves story time. During these COVID-19 extended days at home, I wanted to get some new books. Both the author and artist of this book are fantastic. This book is part of a three book series. I first purchased the The Cool Beans, followed by the Bad Seed and then finally the Good Egg to complete the set. My daughter's favorite of the three book series is the Bad Seed, followed by the Cool Beans, and finally the Good egg but she likes them all. I highly recommend this entire series. As a mom, I like that the books are also educational. They touch on emotions, feelings, how those emotions/behaviors are received and how you can alter change your emotions. It also gives them great life examples of good, bad and cool behaviors which is great with navigating a toddler through all the different emotions that they go through. She also understands that you can be happy, sad, angry. I like that the Cool Beans touches on kindness and acceptance of others. Kids need kindness! Three Book Series The Cool Beans (My daughter's second favorite) The Bad Seed (My daughter's favorite of the set) The Good Egg (My daughter's third favorite) Pros: Excellent Illustrations and adorable story-line Daughter instantly loved it, in fact she asks for the series each night Teaches kids about emotions, how those emotions are received and how they can change.

Great story, blurry print
Print is not as clean as other copies I've read. A little blurry. Otherwise the story is great and my kiddo loves it!

Great book
As a mom reading to her child, I really appreciated the message in this book and wasn’t expecting a therapy session within a children’s book about eggs. Loved it

Humor with some clever tips
This is a book for all those kids (and their parents) who sometimes take life a little too seriously and need balance. It's a humorous story about an egg who lives in a carton with 11 others with the most interesting names. The Good Egg does everything he's supposed to, is helpful, and follows the rules. His buddies...not so much. They show bad behavior a lot of the time, and even though he tries, the Good Egg can't keep the peace. He becomes so frazzled and anxious his shell starts to crack. He decides he needs to take care of himself for a change. He travels, goes on walks, reads books, and over time starts to feel good about himself again. And his cracks heal. Missing his friends, he decides to go back, but he resolves not to worry about what the others do as much as before. He knows they'll still do bad things every once in a while, but, hey, nobody's perfect. The pictures are just right; illustrator Oswald injects humor in interesting places. His eggs have arms and legs and very expressive faces, and one mischievous egg even slaps a sign on the back of the Good Egg that says "Kick Me." This is a good read and has some good tips for adults and kids.

This book is a hit!
Love this book! So many subtle and not-so-subtle lessons for pre-schoolers. It made me laugh the first time I read it. My 3 year old granddaughter asks me to read this to her over and over again.
