Complete Albums Collection 1980-1988

First off, let me say that anyone who can clearly read the description of the product being sold would've known that you were only going to receive the 1st three albums which doesn't warrant any 1-3 star review, so you can ignore those. I won't be 'reviewing' the music either as I am a fan and love 95% of what Iron Maiden does, so I would be biased. Besides, if you're interested in buying this, then more than likely that you already LOVE this music as well.As for the set, I've played all 3 albums and they sounded great. Their seems to be some subtle differences between this version and my originals. I can confirm that the quality of all vinyls were superb! There were no marks, scratches, warps, or even dust on the records. Every record is nice and think cut at 180 gram. Inner sleeves provided are paper on the outside, but your records are protected by a plastc inner lining, so that's automatically a +1 star just for that.My only complaint is the plain 'Red' box. I believe they could have plastered Eddie's face(s) all over it and made it more cool looking. Also,I think the "Limited Edition' sticker only pertains to this box? Therefore, I would recommend purchasing this ONLY if you're planning on buying all of the albums.On one final note, I hope they tour again and UP THE IRONS!!.

I'm Always amused by bad reviews because people are illiterate and don't know why they're buying. The description was pretty clear that you get the box and 3 albums.It's nice to have replicas of the records I had as a kid and are long gone now. There is some concern that all the releases in this set might not fit but I won't know until the last few ship. It does seem pretty tight though. If one or two don't fit, it's not the end of the world & hopefully they would issue a recall and offer replacement if they won't all fit.I bought these for the collectibility and nostalgia. But now I want to buy a record playand spin them up! Up the irons! \m/***UPDATE***I'd preordered this from Amazon, then got emails saying they were trying to locate it. I was worried I wouldn't get it so I cancelled and ordered form Amazon UK.- THEY ARE DIFFERENT BOXES- The box from the USA is about 1/2" wider.So I could NOT fit the last 2 albums in the box I got from Amazon UK. I saw Amazon USA had it in stock so I ordered it. ALL 8 DO fit in this one.I'm returning the UK set to Amazon UK.

Three great albums! Just as the picture shows!Well, I don't know if there was any change to the way that Amazon describes these, but I pre-ordered them weeks before they came out and knew darn well that it was for the first three albums. They are great. The look great, no qualms with the sound... And I like the slipcase being basic red.In all honestly, I don't even want the eight albums of the 80's. I have no interest in live albums or seventh son, and two of them I have already in original vinyl. But not these three! The three best maiden albums. Yeah, the box is a bit pricey, but I'll just chuck my other Maiden albums in there and all will be well.Another nice touch that I appreciate is that, even though all three vinyls ship in a nice black paper and plastic inner sleeve, Beast also includes a reprinting of the original inner sleeve! Having the vinyl shipping in a plain sleeve, separate from the printed inner sleeves is a nice touch, and how I ship records myself, very collector minded. I don't think I have purchased any other new piece of vinyl that came that way.

Unlike some of the reviews, I knew that I was just getting the three albums. The fact that the box can't hold all the albums depicted on the back of the box sucks. My biggest gripe is that if I bought the albums separately, I wouldn't get the box (now known as a dud) but I would have got the auto rip MP3s. This blows.Iron Maiden and Amazon need to make this right if I will buy one more album.

I knew this set "only" contained the first three albums.Unfortunately, my copy of the albums' outer sleeves had minor seam splits.The records themselves are flat, relatively free of surface noise, and the hole is nicely centered.As for the vinyl mastering, S/T sounds okay, but I found Killers and TNotB to sound a bit dark (heavy on the lower mids), and the vocals seemed to sit a bit more in the background.

Finally. Classic Maiden repressed on vinyl. This was is a Christmas present to me, but I can tell you the box is really cool. Comes with the first three Iron Maiden LPs. It's strictly limited edition. And houses the following albums - Iron Maiden, Killers, The Number of the Beast (included in this box), Piece of Mind, Poweslave, Live After Death, Somewhere in Time, and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (sold separately). The vinyl LPs are selling like hot cakes and already hard to hunt down. They have also strictly limited a one-run of the 19- 7" singles from this classic era of Maiden. I had a very challenging time hunting the singles down as well. But only "Wasted Years" and "Infinate Dreams" are in back order. If your a serious vinyl collector, then this brilliant set is for you. UP THE IRONS !!!

Ok.... so I must admit these were highly anticipated by me. I currently own every Maiden album from the 80's onward and they are all in pristine condition. But not 180gram. That being said... these reissues are ok... they sound better than the pic discs (slightly) but not as good as the originals. Also the pressing are questionable ... don't know who they got to do this but......The box set is great for just a few $$ more. The album covers are a little flimsy and the inside sleeves are ok. Overall I would def get these if your originals are beat up... or if you are a die hard Maiden fan but def not to replace your existing collection.
