May have external 5v power issues?
The one I have seems to do OK as long as power is input from the USB C plug. Input 5v on the 5v terminal (GPIO), the device does nothing (when 5v is applied a meter shows 5v on the gpio pin. There is NO 3.3v power on the 3v terminal when 5v is applied from the 5v gpio terminal but does have 3.3 if powered from the USB C. There was continuity between the 5v & Gnd terminals to their respective pad terminals on the bottom of the circuit board near the usb c plug. The 2 flash lamps are a little dim but work, wifi range with the internal antenna is average and the camera picture is about the same as a OV2640, also a ov5640-AF worked but I did NOT see any autofocus action. The board streams higher video frame rates than a ESP32-Cam (Thinker) by about 50%. Transferring a configuration to the device operated ok with the onboard USB C plug. Have not tried the Micro SD Yet! It is definitely a problem NOT having a working 5v supply on the gpio header! The seller offered a Full Refund which I accepted, I posted pictures of my patch that seems to work.
