Great kit for kids and would make a great gift!
We got this for my 10 year old for her birthday and she LOVES it! She has asked about refills, so I'm glad that I bought a second kit when I ordered the first. This would make a great gift for kids around this age. I noticed that in the description it says that it will appeal to both boys & girls. I asked my 12 year old son if he thought it would be good for boys around her age and although he really enjoys creating, he thinks not, because it is marketed more girly, and the fragrance is more girly (according to him, although he happily uses all my B&BW hand soaps and often they are "girly" scents). I'm sure younger boys wouldn't have any prejudice to this kit and would totally love it. It's seriously great! My daughter (with the "assistance" of her barely 7 year old sister) has made a few of the soaps completely on her own, even the first time making them, at the kitchen counter while I have made dinner.

Fun, overpriced, relatively easy to do
Bought for my daughter's 12 bday. It did make 10 soaps. For the price it should have been a bigger kit or a lower price point. Not for younger kids, at least not on their own. We quickly learned after the first one that you must work very quickly to pour into the mold. Even waiting a few seconds after the soap is heated will result in a mushy soap in the mold. To get that smooth perfect soap you must have glitter, fragrance added in quickly and then pour. Due to this... The girls were able to help stir the color around and maybe add glitter.. But I had to work so quickly that they honestly didn't really get to be super hands on. They did the first on their own and were not fast enough and I realized I had to step in to help. We did the microwave method which was much easier than a double boiler on stove. You have to microwave in bursts of 5 second in cements and stir. Until it's melted well. The girls lost interest in this part bc it requires standing by the microwave a while. Overall they liked the kit but really should have had more mold shapes. Since it takes 30 minutes to set... Two ppl can't make the same mold at the same time. So the cat was popular but it would have taken 1.5. Hours for 3 girls to do the cat mold. See the problem? Luckily, we only had 3 girls and they were flexible on which molds they picked. I was able to use left over soap scraps to melt for my son, which brought me to 10 soaps total. The fragrance is mild and nice, coconut papaya. Not overwhelming at all.

Cute Soaps
This product is so much fun! My only real complaint is that they need to sell a refill kit because I want to do this again without having to buy the whole set again. The scent they give you for the soaps is soo good. The process is really simple and fun. I would say probably a nine year old or above could do this on their own without parent help. The soaps turn out adorable. The tattoos stick to the soap when they want to but if the soap is completely dry before you start the tattoo putting on process I find that helps. The kit doesn't make ten soaps in my experience but that is ok because the soaps it did make were super cute!

Fun activity por the kid!
My 5 and 7 yr olds had a blast. Overall it was neat, and if i had known how much glitter would be everywhere I would have thrown the little bag out. But it was a pleasant experience none the less. The soaps are easy to make, the little book comes with the "recepies" and its easy to follow. It even had pictures so my kids could do it without needing to read. The star was taken out too early and a piece broke off, but we re-melted it for 10s in the microwave and poured it in the mold again and it came out perfect. Would definately recommend this as a fun activity with minimal mess. We used to go cofee cups to mix the soaps , and it worked perfect!

No thanks!
For the love of dogs don’t buy it unless you Have a disregard for all things sacred! I bought this for our daughter for Christmas - she’s in to crafting and DIY projects. Ok great! We set her up at the kitchen table and let her go! First the disaster from mixing and making the soap! The entire table cloth got wrapped up and tossed! Even if I’d have gotten the wax/soap out I’m sure the perfume would have lingered for weeks! Headache inducing and strong perfume that brought bad words to my mouth! Then! She takes these “homemade” soaps into the bathroom to actually USE them! For heavens sakes I thought we had a jelly fish swim up our pipes! I went in the bathroom to do a general cleaning that weekend (scrub the tub toilet etc) and my fingers went into a cold ball of slime! WTF did I just touch! As I pull my fingers out of this nasty purple concoction praying to the man above that it wasn’t Toxic...I tentatively sniffed my fingers (brave I know!) and realize that same horrible smell was also in my tablecloth earlier that week! Apparently once made the “soaps” don’t hold up well when they get wet! LOTS of scalding hot water later (to melt the grossness away) I finally had a clean; albeit smelly; bathroom! Do not buy unless you don’t care about messes and your house smelling like a cheap date! Do everyone a favor a buy good quality ingredients and teach them the correct way to make soap! (Shea butters, cocoa butters etc) and mix it properly and buy pretty little rubber molds!

Giftable but not to give to others
This is a cheap gift for a kids birthday. It's decent. Making the soap isn't the easiest. I had to use other ways to get things working well when helping my daughter. She loved it, though. The scent, of course, isn't the best but it's not like you're buying ingredients to make too quality soap to sell. I wouldn't let my child gift the soap she made. It's not worth it, in my opinion. This is a fun, at home, activity to do with your kiddo.

My daughter says its super fun
She is 8 and she loved this kit. She made really lovely soaps, the instructions were bright and fun to read so she did all that herself then explained it to me... All I really had to do as a grown-up was set up a double boiler and pour the hot soaps into the mold. It was fun to do together, it wasn't messy or anything. We both liked this.. The final products are nice quality too the soaps don't seem cheap or weird, I plan on letting her use them...

I loved this fun craft. My 10 year old daughter enjoyed making the soap and being creative, like she put a blackberry in one soap also glitter and old toys that are small enough to use.
