Ambient Weather WH32M Sensor for WS-2801 Series Weather Station

Equivalent replacement for original unit, worked right out of right box, appears to be good quality.

I ordered this to go with the main base unit so I could monitor the Temperature and Humidity in my spare bedroom which I use as a plant nursery over the Winter. I currently have 4 Eureka Lemon Trees, 24 Valencia Orange Tree Seedlings and one Ohio Buckeye Tree seedling growing. And two Peace Lily plants from the mother plant that was dying after 5 years, 4 didn't survive the transplant.LED tube grow lights and 1680 Lumen Daylight White LED bulbs. A 500 Watt space heater and a fan to circulate the air. The East Window is open for Sunlight for two of the Lemon Trees.I had to check the manual on how to get the base unit to recognize the new remoter sensor. Just had to do the re-synchronization process, and BINGO! it was working.Channel 1 is the Outdoor Temperature/Humidity/Barometric Pressure and WWVB receiver for time.

The device is necessary for continued operation however it has a life span of about 6 to 8 Months.

The WH32M Sensor works great, as long as you're not using more than three sensors! I ordered this as my fourth sensor and it will not work and I had to return. Main reason you need a WH31E sensor which allows you to set the channel higher than three if you've got that many sensors. So just be aware of what you need. I'm using similar sensors with a WS-2000 Ambient Weather Station.

This item replaced and older unit and paired up with our existing indoor thermometer perfectly.

Companion to ambient weather station

The device is very accurate-providing that you synchronize it exactly as the directions call for, which is the most difficult part of the installation. The sensor needs to "talk" correctly with the receiver and then the sensor also needs to be calibrated to a local reliable source for Baro pressure and Temperature inside and out The calibration is the "tricky" part. The instructions that came with the sensor (NONE) required that I download and print them out from the Ambient website. Then, following the instructions is not the easiest. Other than that, the unit works very well and maintains accuracy so long as it is properly set up.

Now I hope it lasts longer. The original unit only lasted two years. In the past, they lasted five years or longer.
