Great product without plastic waste
I have been researching natural soaps to reduce plastic waste. I decided to try these because they appear to check all my boxes without spending more on some of the other brands of similar quality. I cannot use synthetic fragrances but love natural scents. I read the one star reviews and noticed that a lot of people expect the natural fragrances to last like synthetic, but the reality is that they are not supposed to because they don't contain the harmful chemicals that give synthetic fragrances their staying power. They do provide an aromatic shower experience and they lather well and are moisturizing. I found that one bar lasted me about 2 1/2 weeks with almost daily showers. I have so far only used the bars without grit and I think the description should indicate which bars contain grit for exfoliation, however these assortments give you the chance to try different levels of exfoliation. I like supporting companies that this that are trying to help make sustainability affordable.

Great Moisturizer and Odor Fighter
I am new to natural soaps this year. What got my attention first was the price. It is around the average price for a 6 pack. As some people know, cheap may be cheap and expensive may just be expensive. Quality is what's important. This is a quality soap at a good price. Everything from the soap to the packaging is organic and recyclable. Each soap is individually boxed with a corner showing the bar of soap. All of the ingredients are natural oils. This soap is good as a moisturizing soap. There may be a slight dryness as I feel no soap that I have used makes you feel like oil. This one is great at preventing that super dry skin that I had with regular soap. I have found that the regular soaps I was using was scented and made me smell like I have not had a bath in days. This soap takes care of all that. It does not have much of a fragrance, but compared to what I was smelling like, this soap has me smelling like clean air. When you open the box, the fragrance is strong and it seems like they all smell good and will make you smell that way. The one thing that will happen when you take a shower is, the fragrance will disappear, but that's ok because you will be clean and fresh in the end. Some people's bodies cannot handle perfumes and colognes. This soap is perfect for that purpose. There is one that is exfoliating (Tango Mango). There is also the one with peppermint. Beware not to let it get in your eyes. These soaps have a decent lather, not too much, but enough to know that it is soap. That's probably the reason that it does not dry you out. I think soaps with a lot of lather tends to dry you out more. This one rinses clean so that's a signal that it moisturizes more by not leaving soap scum on you as regular soaps do. Each soap lasted me almost a week. One of the things I really like is, I can use a bar until it dissolves completely. It does not break into pieces like another brand that I used that was extremely expensive for soap. I bought it the same time that I bought Crate 61. This soap gets razor/paper thin and continues to provide lather until it disappears on your skin. Excellent job!!! I am going to buy the one with men fragrances next. I expect the same cleaning and clean fresh smell. I have been turned off by soaps that leave you smelling like roses, perfume, or cologne. I just want to smell fresh and stay fresh all day. I did not have that with regular soaps. I rather spend the money to be clean than to save the money to smell dirty. Crate 61 will be a go to soap for me as I continue to test out natural soaps. You should not be disappointed with this soap if you had the issues as I did.

Some nice Canadian soap to wash away the germs
Got these cause they seemed pretty good from reviews and the scents they offered. Also like to support a Canadian business, as my neighbor. They have worked pretty well, on my second box already. I wanted to get away from those liquid processed soaps and go with something that seems more natural. Some of the bars scents arent the great but thats mainly cause of preference. One problem I do have is that there are some small hard bits in each soap. Not sure what they are they are like chia seeds or something. Maybe its from whatever plants they use for making these bars. They might be good for helping exfoliate or scrub your skin. I just feel they are to rough so after using a bar for a while ill use my finger nails to scrape off those little things every now and again so it isn't so scratchy. But this is a minor thing and probably just preference. Would like to have more different scents to pick from. But I figure that would cost more to produce. So for now these are just fine for washing up after work.

Love it!
I have recently decided to start using more natural products both in and outside of my body. At 55, I really want to start taking better care of myself and transition to cleaner ingredients in my cooking, personal care and household items. So, as I start running out of things I am replacing them with natural items. This soap was one of my first purchases and I must say, I love it! I read reviews on quite a few different natural soap lines and decided on this one. As soon as it arrived, I opened it and decided to try the Cocoa & Vanilla Espresso bar first. It was the size of a normal bar of soap, smelled nice, not strong, but definitely had a scent. I normally use a washcloth when I soap up, but this bar of soap has ground espresso beans in it, which gives a nice exfoliating affect so I just rubbed the bar right over my body and then used a washcloth afterwards. I loved how the bar felt going over my skin. It lathers nicely and the exfoliation felt good. It also rinses of nicely, leaving no unwanted film. After drying off, my skin felt soft and refreshed. I really like this soap and can't wait to try the other 5. If they are anything like this one.......this will continue to be my go-to soap going forward.

High quality, cruelty free, handmade from North America
A great price for quality handmade soap! Ordered for my husband – the scents int eh "man" set are masculine and have pleasant scents without being overbearing. He loves these soaps. We're both especially glad it's cruelty free – the only way we go on self care products – and are made in North America. These were such high quality that I ordered a more feminine-scented set for my son's girlfriend. Gentle on skin, no plastic packaging.

For once an exactly as described soap
I can’t hate that it is exactly as described. The scents are strong (looking at you patchouli lime) and last, but not overwhelming or overpowering. However, don’t take the “hard grit” lightly on these. They are true exfoliators. I lean more towards men’s soaps for the fragrance, I hate the florals of women’s. These lather nice and do not dry out your skin, even with the hard grit tango mango. Leaves it soft and smooth, and doesn’t break me out or dry me out. Would purchase again, however through their site where I can customize my box.

IMMEDIATE REACTION, PLUS FOLLOW UP AFTER A WEEK!
**Package arrived LITERALLY 5 minutes ago, here is my immediate initial reaction, and then I'll actually post this after USING the soap and getting a better feel for the product.** Keeping in mind that smell is subjective, here are my knee jerk thoughts on the bars of soap: - Firstly, I can smell the soap through the bag (and box). Whatever scent this is, it's POTENT. - Opening the box, the bars of soap look a LITTLE small. Not egregiously so, but a little bit smaller than your average bar of soap; BUT I check them against a new bar of Dove soap that I have, and they are identical. The eyes are playing tricks on you with these. - Here is the breakdown of the 6 scents - Activated Charcoal. This is what I was HOPING would smell like the "Pine Tar" that other companies (like Dr. Squatch, which I've never used, btw) have, but it is the "soap-est" smelling soap, with a hint of tar. It smells a little bit like a can of new paint. - Tango Mango. IMHO, the best smelling of the 6, with strong citrus smells. Very lemon-y, but pleasant. - Eucamint. Ahhh, here's what was permiating out of the box. This smell is STRONG, with an AGGRESSIVE mint smell. Like, Ben Gay mint. And as strong to boot. It doesn't smell BAD, but it's hands down the strongest scent. - Oatmeal Shea. Meh. Kinda smells like an old coat that would be hanging in your grandfathers closet. It's not a BAD smell, but it has this weird odor to it, like when you leave a can of peanuts in your cupboard for a long time, and then go back and smell it. - Patchouli Lime. This one kind of smells like a mixture of Activated Charcoal, Eucamint and Oatmeal Shea. It smells like a room that you just painted a day or two ago, and it definitely has the Ben Gay after aroma lingering. - Apline Spice. This smells like a box. Like find an empty cardboard box, open it, and take a whiff. Boom, Alpine Spice. My least favorite. I will say, none of them STINK; as in there isn't a smell that I'm like, "ewww, I don't want to smell like AT ALL!" Which sounds weird, because I described some of them as "paint," "an old coat," and "a cardboard box," but I feel that those are just very passive smells, not aggressively bad ones. If there is a problem soap, I would assume it's going to be Eucamint, because it might just be too overpowering, although I've found that the more you smell them, they seem to mellow out. I imagine that after a shower with these, the smell will dissipate enough that it will be more mild. Still, with the exception of Tango Mango; a very good smelling soap mind you, I'd say they are all very "manly" scents, and I'm excited to try them out. Ok, so I'm a little over a week in, and here's my final take. (I made it through Activated Charcoal and Tango Mango): First, the scents ABSOLUTELY mellow out when used to actually shower with them. My wife, who admittedly isn't really up on me like that, hasn't even mentioned me smelling differently than the last 11 years. So, if she's even noticed, it's not on a level to make a fuss about. This is important because fresh from the box, these things have some powerful scents, but they are definitely tamed by washing with them. The bars last ABOUT 7 showers. Obviously, your mileage will vary based on how long you're in the shower, how much you scrub, how you store them, etc, but I was able to get 7 GOOD showers out of these. I have them in these natural sisal (whatever that is) exfoliating bags that help lather and store the soap, and really did some good scrubbing in my showers. The bars lather decently, but I'm not sure how much the bag helps with that. If you are a once a day showerer, a bar a week is a very fair approximation of what you'll get. I definitely felt.....SOMETHING I didn't before with my shower gel showers. I don't know if that's the moisturizing, or the exfoliation, but my skin felt a little different after showering. A decent buy. I'm not thrilled, but I'm not upset either. I don't think it changed my life, or even the way I shower, but I'm not mad at the experiment. I may try the Dr. Squatch soaps to see how all these stack up.

You need these even if you don't need these.
These soaps are so great. They smell wonderful, are great on our sensitive skin, leave us feeling soft, refreshed and happy. The box looks like it's gift ready and it is just perfect. Some have a different grit and make scrubbing easy. Others are nice and soft and just feel soft.
