Lady Emma's Campaign (Regency Romance) Review: He was just so fun, and the way he teased William was fantastic - Audience: Adult (Clean) Genre: Historical Romance, Regency Length: 224 pgs Rating: 4+ Review: Who didn't L-O-V-E Sidney in Becoming Lady Lockwood? He was just so fun, and the way he teased William was fantastic. It reminded me of the awesome BFF relationship between Sarah Eden's the Duke and Henry, two of my favorite characters. And here, in Lady Emma's Campaign, I got to get deep into Sidney and find out so much more about him. It really rounded out his character. While the way Emma got to Spain was a bit of a stretch for me, once there everything went really well. I've discussed on Twitter with Sarah (and also Jennifer) about how we love that Jennifer's characters can get into trouble but still remain ladies. One big pet peeve of mine in historical fiction is how many authors try to make heroines too modern in order to appeal to modern audiences. Lady Emma's Campaign walks that fine line with excellence! Emma behaves exactly as a lady would when first thrown into the situation, but also grows exactly as we want to see her and becomes stronger while still behaving as a lady would. :) I'm pretty sure I loved this book even more than Becoming Lady Lockwood. Content Sex - 1ish (Sidney and Emma go off together alone as part of a plan and some men assume naughty things) Language - 1 (Strong language of the Regency era. ;) ) Violence - 2 (Battles are mentioned, details, not too graphic, of death, injuries, etc related to war) Rating - PG Review: This is an adventurous and action packed story with plenty of violence from war - It was hard for me to get through this one, real to life war scenes that make you stop and think. When I choose to read fiction, I am usually in need of an escape/rest from the stress of life. This was not light, but rather intense. If you enjoy a thriller with romance and reading about the abuse the main character had experienced, then this might be the one for you. I feel It was priced too high as I wouldn't read this ever again. I do appreciate the character growth you see as you go along though, Nevertheless it was probably bad timing for me to read it.

Different and Good
This was an enjoyable read and definitely something different than the common Regency Romance. It was nice to read something with Regency etiquette and charm-- outside of a drawing room. My favorite by Jennifer Moore.

Disappointed
I loved Moore's first book, Becoming Lady Lockwood. I have read it a few times. I was hesitant to buy this book because the premise seemed a bit ridiculous. I gave it a shot... My rating is based on other books in this category - romance. My primary purpose for reading this book was the romance. My favorite bits from a clean romance are the swoon worthy moments between the two major characters. I had read half of his book and realize there was not one romantic scene. It was disappointing. You have to suspend your belief in reality a bit to go along with the plot. It is ridiculous to imagine a regency lady going to the front lines of war to rescue her love. However, all of that would have been fine with me if there had been the swoon. Since there wasn't much romance, it was more of a historical fiction book. I love historical fiction and I can think of a lot of authors that do a better job. I am debating if I should give another one of her books a chance.

Lady Emma's Campaign is a WINNER!
Loved this book! So much adventure, suspense, danger, compassion and heart rending experiences, made this a book I could not put down. It grabbed me from page one. Loved the characters of Emma and Sidney. Their lives became intertwined and changed due to the the hard experiences that they had to endure in a war ravaged country. Would recommend this to all who want to be a part of an adventure and feel the emotions of the characters too. 👍

A thrilling adventure with some romance.
Another great, clean read. The story was very exciting and the characters were well developed. It will be interesting to see which characters will come forth next. Thanks for a delightful read.

Not a strong story
I am interesedt in the napoleonic wars and have read extensibly about them, so this book sounded just like something I would love. But it is really a very minor story that doesn't go very deeply into the characters or the conflict and skips many steps, in my view .For example, our heroine behaves as both a very brave and an awfully foolish girl simultaneously. She goes from being an insufferable brat to being the perfect campaigner. The hero is even stranger, his loyalty to his family defies logic and his behaviour is erratic. It is something you may be entertained with if you don't pay much attention, but if you want the real thing just pick a Carla Kelly, in this case I suggest "Marrying the Royal Marine".
