Impressive for the price

The instructions for assembling the telescope were straight forward and easy to follow. However, I wish that there were detailed instructions included on how to actually use the telescope and the different lenses.

We haven't had the opportunity to use this enough yet to know how to appraise it. It is a good quality for the money and works well.

My daughter really enjoys the telescope. It was christmas gift and well made. My husband said the directions for putting it together could have been better.

My parents bought this set as a first telescope for my kids, ages 9 and 6. As a bonus, it came with a microscope so I was thrilled. My husband, on the other hand, was skeptical when he saw it was a Tasco. His concerns were well-founded. The microscope is lightweight plastic and a knob broke when I first tried to adjust it. (I wanted to work on it first so my kids wouldn't be too rough and break it. Well.) Using the other knob, I could kind of see the onion skin on one of the 3 prepared slides included with the scope. My husband then put the telescope together and managed to find lights from a house about a mile away. He was never able to focus and the lights remained a fuzzy blur. The optical resolution and clarity are poor for both instruments. The night sky shall remain a mystery, as will the microscopic world. I guess we'll return this set, and use the money from this year combined with next year's gift, and maybe we'll get a telescope that we actually can use. I suspect it will be too much to ask for both instruments for even double the price of this set. Live and learn.

My Grandson was thrilled to get the telescope for his birthday. The microscope was an added thrill for him.

The installation is kind of easy, but once you get it into place, don't know what to do. Better instructions to use the equipment should have been provided.
