Solid performer!
Great sound! Used this as my drum amplifier for my Yamaha and Roland edrums. I frequently used my Yamaha DD75 kit since it's easy to carry and this DBR10 size is just enough for portability as well. Having a switch to select low frequency cutoff or use it as a monitor is perfect. If you want bluetooth connection, this doesn’t have that feature. you need to get a separate bluetooth receiver and plug that into the RCA input jacks. This is an old model but really reliable and a proven workhorse.

My “Super basic use” review!
This is my first speaker ever. I just needed an acoustic/mic set up so I was lookin lower budget. So for anyone in my situation read on! Looking up an down decent brands I found this low budget Yamaha to be the best among low budget powered speakers based purely off reviews and forums. I only bought one. If you need somethin extremely bass-ey you’re gonna need a sub. Which is kinda obvious but I thought I’d say it. But! I use a Taylor acoustic mainly.. with the guitars own EQ if I leave the bass normal the low E(E2) sounds great. If I turn the bass knob up on the guitar the speaker will rumble and rattle everything. Not chest thumping but very deep and very smooth. The highs on the guitar with the volume all the way up on the speaker and my guitar are clean and precise and a bit warm so it’s not ear piercing an harsh by any means. A nice keyboard would sound fantastic.. I can overpower our drummer with volume, not drown out but definitely get up higher then him. Especially with vocals which I use a ShureSM58 for anyone who cares. I have pierced my own ears with the mic and this speaker though haha. And it still didn’t clip. That’s in a garage band setting too with loud acoustics goin on. We opened the garage up and walked about 100 ft away and the speaker still sounded super clear and loud. I could’ve definitely walked 4-500 ft away and heard it just fine. Although that’s with no crowd or noise in between.. so take that for what it’s worth. Living on 1-2 acre properties I know my neighbors can definitely hear it with the garage open. So for my super basic use of this speaker I’m incredibly happy with it. It’s more expensive but nothing about it has disappointed me at this point. From its sound/volume to its design/weight. I’ve only used the back inputs and adjustability it has and my acoustics bass/treble EQ so I’ve done nothing fancy with the sound here and have definitely not stress tested it(except with the mic that one time which I mentioned above- in which it passed). I highly recommend this though. For anyone who’s serious about sound quality but on a budget this thing won’t disappoint.

Great sounding, powerful speaker in a package that relieves my aching back
I bought the DBR15. It's a very powerful and surprisingly light unit considering. I am comparing this to lugging around a JBL EON15 G2, which has fewer handles and weighs more. With this one, I grab both handles, hug it to my chest and walk as normal. Thank you! Sound quality is excellent. The feature of having a 3 position sound contour setting allows alternatives for boosting the highs and lows to fit the application somewhat, but it is not as flexible as having knobs for highs and lows that can each be adjusted anywhere in a range. I use the contour in the Off position - i.e. flat with no boosting on the speaker - and do my sound shaping on the input signal from a mixer. Sounds great, and I get exactly what I want. In terms of the fan based cooling, and the user manual's warning to beware of using it in environments having a lot of air-born dust and such, I just gaffers-taped a piece of air conditioner filter over the input grate. Issue solved. I have a long haired dog, which makes for a hostile environment exactly like the one they warn against. Why the 15 and not the 12 or the 10? In the music production I do, being able to deliver the power on the the bottom end is important (kick and bass). I am also not always in generously spacious venues, so the 15 can do the job without a separate sub. One less thing to lug and setup, without compromising the ability to deliver a low end that can be heard AND FELT. No regrets. There you have it!

Another awesome Yamaha product!
This speaker, despite its small frame, puts out HUGE sound! Not just loud, but accurate, clear, and punchy audio! The unit is fairly lightweight, but feels solid and durable. The two-input mixer section on the back is super handy and is compatible with XLR, 1/4", and RCA connections, which is something you don't see in most units of this price. The 7-year manufacturer warranty is a real bonus, as I recently had a speaker from a lesser brand quit on me after 2.5 years. Vocals are pristine and I feel that this speaker would perform well as a monitor for live performance, or as a pair of main speakers for smaller crowds of 100-200 people when paired with a sub. It has great bass response for a 12" when on the FOH/Main setting, but it will not produce heavy hitting lows required for the dancefloor. My DJ company will be using this speaker as a monitor until we purchase the 10" model, as the 12" is a lot of sound for a monitor. We then plan to use a pair of 12s as main speakers with a sub at a 209 person capacity lounge. If you are planning on using a pair of these without a sub, you would be better off going with the 15" model. The unit was packaged remarkably well and arrived without so much as a scuff on the box!

Really clear sound and lightweight
I wanted an alternative to lugging around my heavy Mackie SRM 450s and this hit the sweet spot. Very lightweight and I swear they are louder than the Mackie's. Definitely much clearer. QSC is probably a notch sharper, but for the price and portability this is great for a mobile DJ. I paired them with my Mackie DLM12s and it sounds sweet.

Perfect for at home
This was ideal for what I wanted. Playing a Yamaha Dgx500 and a Hammond XK-1C through it strictly for home use and it’s everything I could ask for.
