Excellent product, worth the extra money
I discovered these by accident because a friend at work was using them to bring lunch. They're great, and I've thrown away most of my Tupperware and Rubbermaid containers and replaced them with these. Also now less in the habit of using mason jars or putting leftovers in a bowl covered with plastic wrap. The critical innovation here is that there is a seal made of a softer plastic. That allows the rest of the lid to be made of harder plastic, and allows for the addition of latches without deforming it. This leads to several practical benefits: 1) Because of the latches, the containers will not spill if inverted or handled roughly. Though they are not leakproof, at least the lids will stay on, unlike most competing square containers. 2) The tops are relatively flat and so containers of different sizes can be conveniently stacked, and can generally be moved around the kitchen and carried in a stack without six hands or two extra trips. The sizes are well chosen to make this practical. The amount of fridge space this recovers is considerable. Some things to keep in mind. 1) Like any plastic container they will stain when used to hold certain foods, particularly tomato-based chilis and soups. 2) They will sometimes leak if filled with liquid and inverted.

Color difference
Product is always great , but the color isn’t as pictured. I got three different colored containers and was looking for the blue as advertised.

Small size, great for kid's lunch
My daughter is 5 and takes her lunch to school everyday. I use these containers for her fruit (pineapples, grapes, apples). Her lunch box sits up so the juice from the fruit does not spill out. If I turn the container upside down, no liquid runs out but I am not sure if that would be the case if it was upside down and thrown around in a lunchbox. These are pretty small, which is what I wanted. For comparison, they are about the length of my iPhone 5. The locking mechanisms are very easy to open for my daughter's little hands, so no worry about a spill trying to get them open. These containers will definitely stay on my list of must-haves for packing a school lunch. Update 14/Feb/2015 :: I still use these for my daughter's lunch for her fruit. Sometimes even her snack (crackers, goldfish..). The fruit juice does leak after being tossed around in a lunch box. Leak or not, I still use these and I just drain as much of the juice as I can (from the Dole fruit bowls). The size is still perfect. I would love these even more if they were leak proof. That's the only con.

containers with IQ!
This is my third purchase from this brand of sealable containers.... they are durable , quite leakproof if gasket is securely in place, and I appreciate the stackability and ease of organizing. They are top rack dishwasher safe (I leave them to air dry after) and use them all the time! After many uses, you may experience discoloration from red sauces and “burn” marks from food that gets very hot when microwaving but honestly, if you are looking for a safe and lightweight alternative to glass and - like me- need to be able to organize your containers, Sistema does NOT disappoint ! You way want to start with two sets in order to get a nice assortment as 20 is a minimum for a family in my opinion.

I created a Monster!
What to get the relative who wants nothing at Christmas? Sistema! She started a new job and was looking to make food for several days, but only had recycled smaller containers. She is so happy with the new containers. The shapes fill the frig and don't leave a lot of dead space, seal really well and don't leak. Dishwasher safe with no residue. Now she is looking to get more. FWIW, I picked Sistema b/c it's what I use at home. The wide variety of sizes makes them ideal for leftovers and prep as well.

I bought some- then bought some more~
I bought the sandwich sized conatiners for lunch. I liked them so much that I then purchased more of that size and several smaller ones- also for lunches. Now they are at my house, my daughter's house and with my son for his summer internship. I was unhappy with other boxes that that ill-fitting lids that would not stay closed. These snap on, stay tight and really do the job. They wash easily although they do take a bit of time to dry due to the blue ring in the lid. The only design suggestion that I would have is that the sandwich box could be a little deeper so that thicker sandwiches could be stored without any crushing. These boxes would also be great to store odds and ends, craft supplies, extra change, credit cards, things that you keep in a drawer, dorm room stoage of business cards, award or membership pins---really anything. They clip shut, and stay that way, even if tossed about.
