The Richest Man In Babylon Review: A FUN READ with basic tips about personal finance - I recently heard a radio host recommend this short book as a must read about personal finance and how to handle money. To be honest, I've never heard of The Richest Man in Babylon and was totally shocked to discover it has sold over 4 million copies! In a nutshell, this short book contains parables set in Babylonian times. Some of the language is dated and a bit clumsey to read in modern times, but it makes for an interesting read. Rather than just telling the reader to live on less than you earn and save 10% from your income for retirement, the book tells the tale of someone in ancient Babylonian times who struggled from paycheck to paycheck and sought the advice of the richest man in Babylon. The rich man goes on to share "secrets" to his financial success, which are basic, well-proven tactics for building personal wealth (eg, work hard, save for retirement, carefully invest your money after seeking the advice of wise men, never invest in a business you are unfamiliar with, etc.). I strongly recommend this book for teenagers and young adults, but it is also helpful for anyone desiring basic knowledge on how to save and build personal wealth. For more advanced readers, I'd strongly recommend The Millionaire Next Door by Thomas J. Stanley, Ph.D. or The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey. 👍👍 Review: Interesting book if you are into personal finance. - This is one of the classic books about personal finance. In fact, this is one of the most-have books about the topic. Really easy to read. It is basically a story with lots of personal finance tips and teachings, rather than an academic book or more complicated concepts with graphs and numbers. This book also has no age, I would say. If you want to introduce kids and young adults to personal finances, this is the book to get.

More Common Sense Than Financial Advice
This book is a little overrated. It gives financial advice that’s based on common sense. It won’t teach you some deep financial secrets that’ll make you an overnight millionaire or anything. It basically tells you to save one tenth of your earnings. Invest two tenths of your earnings. Use the last 7 tenths of your earnings to pay your bills and basic living expenses. Other than that, it encourages you to invest your money in other areas so that your money grows over time. Again, all of those things are pretty common sense. With that said, it’s a short book that’s easy to read.

This Is NOT Your Typical Finance Book
I had no idea when I bought this book, that it was written in story form and I must say that I LOVED it! We read it together with our 13 and 17 year old and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The stories were taken from tablets back from the ancient days of Babylon yet the lessons that are taught in them are so relevant to today. This book is a classic that was written in the early 1900s so Randy has rewritten it to make it a little easier to read and comprehend. I am so thankful because my kids gleaned so much wisdom from it that each of them now have their own checking accounts and have started separating their money into savings, giving, and spending. My 13 year old invested a good amount of her money into a small business and doubled her profit in her first sale. Our son invested into a stock and is already seeing increase. I am hardly having to spend any extra money on them now at all. They have gained so much wisdom in not just how to spend and save and give, but also....how to work hard for what they want. This book has been a blessing to all of us and I highly recommend it to people of all ages who spend any amount of money. That's you!

This is the version you want!
This to me is one of the greatest books you can buy to learn wealth fundamentals. This version in particular is edited in such a way as to be in better order and easier to understand. Know that this book isn’t a step by step instructional on what exactly to do with your money. It is more of understanding the secret to wealth. And the stories really do a great job at making you understand the lessons to building wealth. The stories in the book are enjoyable to read and don’t drag on unnecessarily. Wish I had been introduced to this book earlier in life. I honestly believe you shouldn’t hesitate on buying this for yourself and another so you can gift it.
