An Introductory Guide to Post-Structuralism and Postmodernism

If you have questions about Postmodernist Philosophers this is a great primer.

This is a comprehensive summary of the aforementioned topics, and I used it as a text in Contemporary Sociological Theory courses; the chapter on Jean Baudrillard is like a 'Modern Enlightenment' for graduate students.

This book is so boring. It assumes that you have a background that includes several historical figures. I couldn't read more than one page without falling asleep.

Good condition, just what I expected.

The field of cultural criticism can be difficult to approach. Madan Sarup's book provides exactly what the title states, an excellent introduction to Post-Structuralism and Postmodernism. His coverage of the critics and philosophers who espouse these schools of thought serve as a solid foundation for further studies. His comparisons of the theories of different authors was especially helpful, as was his treatment of the feminist critics, who seem to be often overlooked.

I was glad to find this book at an inexpensive price and receive it in a timely manner. Thank you!

This a concise but very authentic introduction to the bunch of philosopher known as postmodernist and poststructuralists. Crisp and engages seriously with all the major concepts of each thinker. A great read.
