Very tough **Q: Good day... How flexible are the outer edges of the base? What is the width & height of the base(the specs given don't seem accurate)? Thanks...** A: The wings on the uni connector are mostly rigid but do have some flex to accommodate various bottle shapes. Much of the fit comes from the compressible foam that helps grip the bottle. **Q: is bottle included ?** A: This kit is for attaching to virtually any type of container, not just a cycling water bottle. You could connect a Coca Cola can if you wanted to. Using regular bottle cages, I had to add a small bungie to hold the bottle in, no matter how tight or grippy I made various cages I would try. Lost 2 or 3 bottles before that, plus countless trail ejections.Then I discovered FidLock. I use the Uni on my 2020 Pivot Firebird29, where the water bottle bosses are on the outside (facing the front tire) side of the downtube. Sure it looks weird to have the bottle outside the triangle, but I appreciate Pivot designing the suspension as the priority, with aesthetics/bottle function next.After a 11.5 months/1300 miles of hard riding, not once - as in Never - has the Fidlock Uni bottle mount come lose from the lugs unexpectedly. I have the Uni mated to a 25 oz/750ml Camelbak Podium Big Chill -- a heavy water bottle. And on big hits for the weight to be pulling Away from the mounting studs as opposed to pushing into the studs if it was inside the triangle -- I must say I am More than impressed. Hard riding = chunky all CO/UT/WY stuff, mostly blue blacks or more -- bitterbrush, wheeler, rainmaker, trestle DH, freelunch, holy cross, ahab, jacksons, daves, curt gowdy, targhee, black canyon, jimmys mom, parallel, etc etc you get the picture. I may not be EWS racer but I put the Fidlock thru its paces on chop/chunk/brake washboard/etc.At the 11.5 months mark the bottom stud broke off the mount, probably too much vibration. Fidlock warranties 1 year. Took pic and emailed in with my receipt here on Azon.
