JJGeorgeWeed Torch

Great product so far. I researched these products on Amazon for a while before placing my order. I appreciate the torch is metal from the tip all the way up.I'm very pleased with this product. It didn't need to be extremely hot to do the trick. I used it on the weeds in flower beds, landscaping and driveway. I didn't need to burn the weed all the way for it to be effective, just enough that I noticed the weed began to shrivel up, a day or two later the weed was dying.

I have an 8 acre hobby farm. I am constantly trying to control weeds by either spraying or burning. I have always used the large burners with a 25lb tank. This is obviously extremely cumbersome and sometimes a two person job. I got the JJ George burner yesterday, and put it straight to work. Burned my pond edges perfectly, and is so lightweight that you hardly realize you're carrying it around. Great product!

This is probably not what you want to use to kill large areas of weeds. It's best application is to do selective knock downs of a few weeds that are close to other vegetation where you don't want to use weed sprays. It gets tedious real fast to cover large areas. Of course if its just a couple of weeds you could just saturate the soil with water and come back a few minutes later and just pull them out with your fingers. I found it most useful to light my barbeque pit that uses Red Oak wood. I have no objection to using charcoal lighter fuel but this is an alternative if you choose to use it. Mostly I use my Boy Scout training of starting with kindling and work up which requires just one match. It's lightweight and the remote start is great when windy conditions blow out the flame. It's okay if you have difficulty bending to pick out a few weeds. Great for Seniors.

I like it because I can use the yellow canisters which burn hotter may last longer too. Very light and more economical than lugging a propane tank around to burn weeds. Yet to see how durable it is.

To be honest I have not used it yet but based on product quality I'm looking very forward to killing weeds in my parking lots.Okay since that wouldn't be fair I went ahead and took it to the back yard and started torching some weeds. I tried it at different flame levels and we'll see how quickly they die. And as long as they die, even at a low Flame setting, maybe they take longer, I don't care as long as they die.Turn up all the way the flame was super hot and torched great!So it's been months now. For my commercial properties, it's still better to spray the weeds. But for my garden where I don't want chemicals I'll torch.

This thing is awesome I bought it for my country place it’s great for getting campfire going and to burn nuisance brush and weeds I will definitely get my money’s worth out of this very reasonably priced item

Product is awesome. I just used it for maybe the ten time. After about the 2nd time, I thought the propane was going to run out, but the1st tank is still going strong and that makes me happy. I love to see the weeds burn away instead of having to wait to see them slowly die with Roundup. And with all the cancer news concerning glyphosate, I feel a lot better not using Roundup.

The torch uses the yellow 14 oz canisters of MAP PRO gas. The flame is not very wide which aids with controlling what is being burnt. I use it for weeds along my driveway and weeds in cracks in the driveway that are very difficult to get rid of. The torch is well balanced so I don't get tired using it for long periods. Also it is long enough so I don't have to bend too much which is great for my back. Gas canister lasts for about 4 hours. It does make noise so I do most of my burning during the day so as not to disturb my neighbours in the late evening.Make sure you are alert when using the torch and when you do get tired make sure you take a rest. Ensure you ware appropriate safety clothes and shoes. Pay attention to where you point the end of the torch to ensure you do not burn yourself, your pets or any thing or person around you.

The Stricker doesn't like to work, and the bottle freezes up fast in cold weather. But it does get the job done.
